Vehicle Detail

Professionally painted in BMW Dover White. Earles fork front end, with low sport bars and dual Denfeld saddles. All matching numbers – Frame, Name Plate, and Motor. This motorcycle was recently rebuilt from the ground up. Over $15,000 was invested into this motorcycle with the goal of creating a nostalgic, like new bike, without destroying some of the 50 year old patina. As many of the original parts as possible were refurbished, cleaned, polished, painted, powder coated and/or re-chromed. Motor was completely disassembled and rebuilt down to the crank to include replacing the rings, bearings, and slingers. Heads were checked, valve springs replaced, and valves reseated. Oil pan was replaced with a deep sump pan. All gaskets replaced. Carburetors were cleaned and rebuilt. Rear drive serviced. Electrical harness, all bolts and all rubber parts were replaced. Tail light bulb replaced with LED unit. Suspension refurbished with new shock inserts. Complete factory exhaust was replaced with a reproduction exhaust. Factory aluminum wheels were polished and professionally re-spoked, and new bearings installed. This motorcycle is regularly ridden and is meant to be ridden, and it is not a garage queen. As a result, it has acquired a few small blemishes which I have tried to identify in photos. Of note, there is a ¼ inch scratch on the tank which was touched up, a few very small road chips in the lower frame, and the center stand paint has been scraped where it contacts the ground. The horn switch is also not functional, and the switch needs to be replaced. Finally, the battery is not an original type battery, so some modifications were made to the battery support strap to accommodate the slightly smaller battery currently installed (a main fuse was also added). Has a working lock and key for gas tank storage compartment, but no key for the steering lock. If you want a concourse show bike award winner, this could be it, and it is almost there. But, that was not the intent. If you want a refurbished piece of history that you can ride to the show, then you are looking in the right place. California title in hand and current registration valid until August 2013. All records from rebuild to include photos and receipts will transfer with the motorcycle. Otherwise, this motorcycle is being sold AS-IS. Reserve price is set well below what has been invested in this motorcycle so bid now for a great bike. Please feel free to ask questions or request specific pictures.
