Vehicle Detail

PLEASE LOOK AT ALL THE PICTURES AND READ THE DESCRIPTION TO THE END. THE CAR HAS HAD SOME OF THE ORNAMENTAL TRIM REMOVED, AS WELL AS SOME INTERIOR BITS AND PIECES ALL OF WHICH ARE BEING SOLD WITH THE COMPLETE CAR. IT'S ALL THERE. The last motor cars produced for the buying public prior to all production ramping up for the war effort was on February 2, 1942. This car was produced shortly before that date. The Century was the lighter weight "Special" Series body coupled with the Roadmaster engine making this car the highest HP car of its day at 165 HP, a real Hot Rod of its day.....5 HP more than a Cadillac. It was outfitted with what Buick called compound carburetion, or dual carbs as on the Roadmaster series. This arrangement was dropped in 1946 with the installation of a 4 barrel carb. As only a fraction of cars were produced vs the 1941 model it is truly a rare car. I bought this lovely and rare car and planned to do a cosmetic (at least) paint restoration as a companion car to my same year Century Sedanet. This car is in running and otherwise very good condition with no rust issues other than a small amount of surface rust under the stainless trim I removed. The mileage listed may or may not be the actual mileage as I have no idea what that might be.At age 80 I now find that in acquiring the car my reach exceeded my grasp and have therefore decided to part with it at a financial loss. The pictures displayed showed the car as I received it followed by pictures after partial disassembly. I have every part, largely trim, removed from the car and have photographed them as well as the car as it now sits in my garage. This would be a wonderful and potentially profitable effort for the right enthusiast. I KNOW OF A SIMILAR CAR IN FLORIDA FOR WHICH THE BUYER IS ASKING $65,000. Please feel free to ask any questions that you wish and I will give you honest and forthright answers.
