1986 MERCEDES 560SEL

NO RESERVE!

RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD.

NEEDS COSMETIC, MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL WORK.

Highlights:

• Odometer shows 260,609 miles, but it quit working at that mileage so TRUE MILES UNKNOWN. Previous owner says miles are over 300K.
• In spite of the high miles, this big body Benz runs good (slightly rough idle) and drives very good with a powerful, smooth, quiet, and comfortable ride. The acceleration is strong with no hesitation.
• We cannot guarantee this 560SEL will pass it's next State Inspection since we have not checked this car out in our shop.
• This Mercedes was just traded-in to our dealership and we are now listing it on eBay telling you of our visual/driving observations regarding the car's cosmetic, mechanical and electrical condition.
• The 5.6L, V8 engine runs good and has ample power! There is a slight rough idle, but excellent acceleration. The engine looks dry and clean up top, but has some oil residue underneath. There are no major drips that leave a puddle (we have not diagnosed the origin of any oil leaks). The automatic transmission shifts great through the gears with no slipping, but jerks a little when you put it into gear from "PARK".
• The body of this 560SEL is straight and there is no rust on the undercarriage or the body. The body does have a small dent on the back of the trunk lid with some rust bubbling underneath. The charcoal gray paint itself is bad on the roof and the top of the trunk. The rest of the body panels have multiple minor scratches, scrapes and paint chips here and there. This car will need to be repainted to look good again. The alloy wheels look good, but also have some scrapes and chips in the paint. The tires are mis-matched, but will all pass State Inspection. The front tires have about 20-30% tread remaining while the rear tires have about 90% of their tread remaining.
• The sunroof is inoperable. The radio works, but only one speaker works. The wood trim is cracked and loose in spots and the transmission shifter's wood trim panel is loose. The left front and right rear power windows work, but the other two do not work (we are not sure what the problem is). The A/C head unit operates the blower, but the A/C does not get cold. The power mirrors work and the driver's power seat works, but the passenger power seat does not work. The driver's heated seat does not work, but the passenger's front seat heater does work. The rear seat's heat does not work. The power antenna is inoperable, and the driver's door check is broken.
• The light gray interior looks decent, but is dirty. There are numerous loose, missing and/or broken trim pieces. The seat leather is cracking and ripped in spots and the carpet is heavily soiled. All the seats have some degree of dye wear or stains.
• It is possible that this car will need some drivetrain mechanical work, but based on it's very good driveability, ample power, and other positive indicators, we feel the car can be driven "as is" for now assuming any State Inspection issues are fixed. As stated earlier, this car has not been in our shop and has only been driven and observed by the sales department (trade-in vehicle) and the eBay sales team.
• If a Virginia resident wins this auction we are required to complete a new VA State Inspection on the car. It may or may not pass so the car could get a REJECTION sticker. The car will be sold with the current inspection to out-of-state residents.
• This Mercedes can be a good project car or a good parts car. The good news is that it does run and drive good. Bid now and bid often to win this NO RESERVE auction!!!
