Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1987 Buick Regal T-Type. Manufacture date was March 1987. I bought the car in 2004 with a prior salvage title due to a prior theft recovery. I purchased it off of eBay from a seller in California. The odometer reads 44,509 miles. It is my guess that the mileage is more like 144,509 miles but with the vehicle being a prior theft recovery, your guess is as good as mine. The car was my pride and joy, as well as my daily driver, until the turbo went out. I’m no master mechanic, but when I removed the turbo from the motor, the inside components fell out in pieces. I believe it was caused by lack of oil getting to the turbo or just extreme wear. I was able to drive the car home with no problem other than it smoking oil. The motor didn’t knock or make any strange noises so it is my opinion that the motor wasn’t harmed. This took place approximately in 2005. At the time, I was young and did not have the means to repair it so I parked it in my parent’s garage. This is where it has been ever since. I had dreams of restoring it and doing a complete motor rebuild but I have slowly but surely lost interest in it. You should also know that the water was drained from the engine block at the time it was parked. So, as noted above, the engine is not in running condition. It will need at the minimum, a turbo, a radiator because the one that’s in it leaks, and a battery. It is my opinion that since the car has been sitting so long that the engine be removed and rebuilt. The body is in good to fair condition in my opinion. I have found very little rust on the vehicle. The only spots I have found any rust is right under the passenger door and inside the passenger door jam. I have included several photos of this. There are also several minor to moderate dents in the body. Again, I have included several photos of this. The paint is cracked, chipped, and scratched in numerous areas. Again, I have included several photos of this. The tail lights are cracked, but functional. The bumper fillers need to be replaced. If you’re looking for a show car, this is not the car for you unless you plan on doing a complete, bumper to bumper restoration. The interior is also in good to fair condition in my opinion. The seats are in decent shape. No major rips or tears. The carpets could use a good shampooing. The head liner is sagging. The dash is cracked and showing its age. The radio is missing. The center console shifter is missing the handle. The plastic trim is dull and showing its age. Again, if you’re looking for a show car, this is not the car for you unless you plan on doing a complete, bumper to bumper restoration. The car is also missing the spare tire and the antenna. I do not know if the motor was ever rebuilt or not. Nor do I know if the engine is stock. But I can tell you the car was very quick when I did drive it. There are some after-market parts of the exterior of the engine. They include: Kenne Bell intake plenum, Kenne Bell fuel pressure regulator, Turbonetics Deltagate Mark II waste gate, Hooker Super Competition headers and up pipe, Flowmaster mufflers, and Lucas 30.0 lbs./hr. fuel injectors. I also removed the driver side valve cover to see what heads were installed. The numbers on the head was “25518445” which from my research tells me they are the stock heads. I also had a Viper 600 ESP auto security system professionally installed on the vehicle when I purchased it. I strongly recommend that you carefully review each and every photo. I have taken the time to include as many detailed photos of the vehicle as possible. With that being said, I washed the exterior and under carriage prior to taking these photos. The car had a layer of dust and cob webs from sitting so long. Just didn’t want you to think that the car was leaking anything. All of these photos were taken in the last couple of days. If you notice that I missed something and would like to request a certain picture of something, let me know and I’ll gladly get it for you. I have taken approximately 275 photos but I can only display 24 of them on here. I understand what it's like buying a vehicle on eBay and am trying to be as descriptive as possible. I am also willing to show the car in person to anyone who would like to come and take a look at it. Finally, a non-refundable $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction ending. Failure to do so gives me the right to offer the vehicle to the next highest bidder. Also, the remaining balance is due within 7 days of the auction ending. Failure to do so gives me the right to keep your $500.00 deposit and offer the vehicle to the next highest bidder. I cannot stress enough that the $500 deposit is not refundable for any reason. This is to keep all non-serious bidders from bidding. Cash is preferred but I'll accept checks. However, they must clear my bank prior to me signing the title over to you. I have told you as much information about the vehicle that I can think of. If I think of anything else, I’ll be sure to add it to the listing. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me and ask prior to bidding. I will not disclose the reserve price to anyone, as it is set at a reasonable price. This vehicle is sold AS IS, with no warranty. Buyer assumes all responsibility for the vehicle, and repairs. Buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle from Barnhart, MO On Nov-14-12 at 19:28:07 PST, seller added the following information: I uploaded 200+ more photos to photo bucket. They can be viewed at: http://s1298.beta.photobucket.com/user/roemer_n_his_gn/library/On Nov-14-12 at 20:33:34 PST, seller added the following information: I did some more digging and found out that my Buick is a Regal Limited with Turbo (W05 option). I apologize to anyone who may have bidded thinking it was a Turbo T (WE4 option). Actually, I found out that the Regal Limited with Turbo is actually a little more rare than the Turbo T. There were only 1,035 produced in 1987. I strongly suggest everyone to look at and research the photo of the trunk lid sticker that shows all factory options it came with. If anyone has anything to add or has any questions, please e-Mail me. Thanks, Chris
