Vehicle Detail
Chassis number 221664 Engine number P813630 Mileage 92108 Originally Togo Brown, repainted Bali Blue sometime in the distant past. I've owned it since about 1998. See http://treace.smugmug.com/Other/Porsche-SC for about 140 detailed photos and videos. Sold with bill of sale (State of Georgia doesn't title vehicles this old) Engine (receipts for most of this work) Engine was rebuilt in 2000 with strict adherence to "Secrets of the Inner Circle" Approx 150 miles on engine since rebuild New NPR piston & cylinder set installed New main bearings (1st under/std) (Competition Engineering) New rod bearings (1st under) (Competition Engineering) All rotating parts balanced by Competition Engineering Early 912 heads (no smog holes) rebuilt by Competition Engineering Combustion chambers cc'd (64.3 cc), new valve guides, springs, shims, seals, etc. Compression ratio set at 8.6:1 MaestroMaster cam w/ resurfaced lifters (Harry Pellow) Rebuilt oil pump (Harry Pellow) Weber 40 IDF carbs w/ adapter plates on original Solex manifolds K&N air filters w/ 2" velocity stacks inside New Bosch 031 distributor installed (original cast iron distributor included) Original oil cooler was ultrasonically cleaned (by an aircraft engine rebuilder whose name escapes me) New clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing Rebuilt original 356 6V starter (not a VW starter) Engine sheetmetal powercoated gloss black Fan shroud powercoated light gray Rebuilt double flap heater boxes (powercoated black) (Stoddard rebuild kits) Gas tank was hot-tanked, then internally coated with POR15 gas tank sealer. Tank exterior repainted light gray. New fuel filter/petcock assembly New Leistritz muffler New 6 volt battery Brakes Klasse 356 dual circuit master cylinder upgrade Brake calipers rebuilt with new stainless steel pistons and seals (Stoddard) New brake pads, brake rotors, and brake hoses (Zim's) Ate Blue brake fluid Transmission Transmission removed and cleaned, new shifter input seal, new swing axle boots Transmission refilled w/ Swepco 90 (Zim's) Electrical Leoni headlight relay kit w/ upgraded headlamp connectors Original clock Original Blaupunkt Frankfurt rebuilt by Wilford Wilkes Suspension/Steering 4 new tie-rod ends (Zim's) 4 new Boge shocks (Stoddard) New link pins (Febi) New steering coupler flex-disc Needs Full pan - the drivers side floor pan is patched with a sheet metal plate - the passenger side floor pan was a mass of fiberglass patches, so I removed it for photos - longitudinals look pretty good, one jack point is partially crunched Rear wheel wells - rust hole in the right side closing panel, left side is good Front wheel wells - original closing panels look flakey at the bottoms, probably need replacing Hood - hood frame has been kinked, but not noticeable from the outside Battery Box - there is a rust hole directly under the battery Door bottoms - looks like a previous owner added door bottom repair panels over the top of the existing door (did not cut the original door). See photos of the insides of both doors. The passenger side door is in worse shape than the driver side. A solid replacement door is included for the passenger side.
