Vehicle Detail
What I have up for auction is a 1969 Falcon Futura Sport Coupe. This is my daily driver, and I put 34 miles a day on the car and even more on the weekend. It is extremely dependable and is a smooth driver. When I purchased the car it had 91,XXX miles and I watched it roll over for the first time. There are a lot of miles left in this car. The AC blows cold, the power disc brakes will stop on a dime and give you change. The tires and American Racing Torque Thrust wheels are only a year old and have absolutely NO CURB RASH. The front end has been professionally aligned, the lower control arms have been replaced with new ball joints and bushings and strut bushings. The power steering control valve and slave cylinder have been replaced, along with the four pressure hoses. The rear brake shoes and front disc brake pads, and all four shocks were replaced about 4 months ago. I get anywhere from13 to 16 mpg regularly, closer to 15. All of the glass is still the original FoMoCo script and is in great shape. The chrome is still bright and is very presentable. The vinyl top is in pretty good shape, except for the discoloration and weather cracks in lower portions on the dutchman’s panel under the rear window. The seats are just about perfect, no rips, tears, or loose seams. The head liner is in great shape, but there are two small cuts over the rear package trail. The carpet was replaced before I bought the car. The dash is PERFECT and the door panels are in excellent shape. The am radio works. I upgraded to a new aluminum radiator when I bought the car. The old brass unit was just about gone, and I preferred a USA made aluminum replacement over a Chinese brass unit. There has been no smoking in the car and there are no odd smells. The car has been repainted once in the past. There are nicks and bumps. It is not show quality, but the finish is very shiny and still gets a lot of attention at the cruise-in shows. The motor runs strong, and the transmission shifts like it is supposed to. The horn, wipers, heater, turn signals, etc... all work. The car is originally from California and there is absolutely no rust in the pans or trunk drop offs. The rear pan under the rear seat still has shiny red paint from the factory. There is some minor rust under the paint in a couple of places on the doors, but the back side is still solid. This is simply under the paint, as there is no rust through. There is a small scrape on the lower driver side quarter panel, and the hood has some hinge damage that has been repaired but has cracked. Apparently someone leaned on the passenger side quarter panel and cracked the paint. There is no evidence of being rear ended, the tail lamp panel is laser straight, the lower portions of the quarter panels (pinch welds) are excellent as are the rocker panels and inside the rocker panels. The underside of the doors are almost perfect. No rust through. I have pictured these flaws. The trunk pan is still painted, and there is no rust in the trunk drop offs, the floor pans are nice. The engine compartment aprons are arrow straight and have not been hit. The front frame rails are perfect as is the core support. There is absolutely no evidence of the car being in a front end wreck. I have not seen any hacking done on the wiring harness. This car is the real deal and is ready to be driven anywhere at any time. Come drive it and and you’ll love it. I am sorry but I had a mistake in my listing and had to make changes and relist. My apologies.
