Vehicle Detail

I have owned this 1965 GMC 4 Wheel Drive pickup truck since 1987. I'm the third owner and it's spent its entire life in northeast Oregon. It's a western truck in good original condition. It has a 305 V-6 engine and the other original running gear. It has a manual 4 speed transmission and a high & low range four-wheel drive. The original owners manual is in the glove box. It runs well and drives well. The paint, body and bed are all original. There is some rust where you might expect it--on the front fenders and below the doors in a few places. The body has the minor dings and scratches that you might expect on a 47 year old vehicle but it's never been in an accident to my knowledge. The original wooden bed is functional. The fuel system was recently restored. The gas tank was cleaned out at a radiator shop and a new sending-unit for the gas gauge was installed. It has a new fuel pump and the carburator was rebuilt. The engine runs well. It has a new battery and a recent lube, oil & filter change. It has four matching Goodyear tires with good tread. The lights, horn, wipers, turn-signals, and heater all work. The windows roll up and down. There is new upholstery under the seat cover. I had it professionally installed years ago and then covered it right away with a seat cover to keep it clean. The AM/ FM cassette deck works. There are speakers in the doors and on the dashboard. The windshield is cracked. It was replaced and then soon hit by a piece of flying gravel, but since the cracks aren't in front of the driver side it has worked fine for me. The starter will need to be replaced soon. It has recently started "mis-firing" about half the time that you turn the ignition key but then it starts right up. The horn works from a button below the dashboard. The left turn signal requires your hand on the signal lever for it to flash--it has done this for a long time. The dashboard speaker does not work. These are not big items, but I am trying to accurately describe everything that may be a concern for a you. The original owner scratched a maintenance log under the hood for lube, oil & filter changes (see photos). I was told that the engine was rebuilt before I bought the truck. I have maintained it regularly and kept it as original as possible. This has been a great truck and I receive wonderful comments from folks all the time when I drive it--lots of people really like it. You don't see many four wheel drive pick-ups from this era, especially with a short / narrow bed and fenders on the outside. I would love for the new owner to restore it to its potential. I have three pickup trucks and need to let one go.
