1954 Volkswagen Single Cab Truck - This is a very rare "Barndoor" era truck which means it was built between 1950-1955. These early trucks don't pop up for sale often and when they do they are usually already restored or customized. Here is your chance to do a stock or custom restoration to your liking. This truck is a very dry southern Arizona truck that has spent at least the last 15+ years sitting outside and probably much longer than that. The rust is very minimal and the undercarriage is very dry. The bed floor and treasure chest floor is also solid and dry. This truck has some nose damage to it but it can probably be saved if in the right hands. This truck has never had the wheel wells hacked out of it, the nose cut off, or any other metal surgery performed. It has been repainted once over it's original dove blue color with red. It was a cheapy paint job with no body work performed and no bondo on it. Some of the red is coming off on the side gates and you can see the Dove Blue and there is some original business logos present. The truck also comes with 10, yes 10 1200cc 36hp engines as well as 5 split case transmissions. I had wanted to restore it to stock so I collected these so I could pick the best of everything for the restoration. Here is what it has and or comes with: - Has the original engine lid (brake light area was filled in for some reason in the past) - Has a pair of reproduction props for the engine lid and tool door - Has a correct rear apron - Speedo Pod with dash controls - 1 16" barndoor wheel - Correct steering wheel (no horn button) - Crank start handle, engine tin and nut - 3rd brake light bulb holder - All 3 gates (side ones are rust free and pretty straight, rear one is rusty on the bottom) - Has original Barndoor transmission still in it - Has original front end still under it. - New Barndoor fuel tap from Wolfsburg West The Bad stuff with this truck: - Nose is dented - Front floor has some rust but reproductions are made - Missing the bumpers, front seat, speedometer and lights - Passenger front door is incorrect for this truck but I do have an early ice pick door from a '57 or so bus that is included - Missing some glass This truck has a clear Arizona title in my name.
