Vehicle Detail
we bought this bike thinking it would be a great bike for my wife, which it would be but she found another she likes better so here it is. i have a '72 R60/5 bought in 1981 with exactly the same mileage this bike has but that was 50,000 miles ago. see the pics of "The Mule" in the background, just pack it up and go. i've never had the heads off, played with the points or anything in 31 yrs of ownership of The Mule so i'd expect the same from this bike. this /6 has the 5 speed tranny with NO kicker. this bike, named Lucky, sat for 28 yrs, last registered in '84. When we got Lucky we changed all the fluids and removed the pan for cleaning. there was nothing suspicious found on any drain plugs or in the pan. the oil and air filters were renewed at this time also. Lucky's carbs were cleaned and the tank flushed. lucky for Lucky the tank was stored dry and there was no old gas to clean and no rust in the tank and the original red liner looks good. all the electrical switches work just fine except the horn. there is power down to it so i suspect a bad ground in the switch or the horn itself. high beam, low beam, turn signals , kill off/on/off and front lever and rear brake pedal light all work. when i rode this bike it was almost like a new bike and brought back some pretty far-gone memories of when the Mule was a young stud (among others,LOL). Lucky's seat is almost factory fresh with No rips, tears or holes and the pan is solid as well. the throttle grip hasn't stood up to mother nature and probably should be replaced. while we're talking mother nature... the tank is beautiful but there are some signs of corrosion in the paint (see pics). the handlebars also show some signs of weather as well as other alloy castings. this bike was bought by us to be a rider and Not a show piece. the patina this low mileage machine shows tells it's age. the conti tires, rb2 in front and the k112 in the rear need to be replaced as there are some cracking even tho the tread depth appears to be fairly new (30 yrs ago !!). we purchased this bike without a title as it has been lost and the P.O. (previous owner) had no interest in replacing it. ohio can be a bear to do this but we have been told it can be done. we haven't persued it to this point. if Lucky doesn't sell we'll just park it next to The Mule in december when the riding season ends here for a few months and see about getting it titled during the offseason. in a nut shell, this bike is being sold without a title despite what the ebay format says as it doesn't provide a place to click "no title". a bill of sale can be given if requested. after the carbs were cleaned, new battery installed , fresh gas flowing thru rebuilt petcocks into new fuel lines , fresh oil in everything (except the front fork, didn't get to that...yet) , new plugs, caps and wires, Lucky turned over a few times and sputtered to life for the 1st time in decades!!! yippee !!!!!! Lucky soon settled down to a nice idle off choke once warm. i haven't even sync'ed the carbs yet. Lucky has been out on a 100 mile shakedown run after a few trips around the block here and there has been nothing but smiles. it's pretty much what i expected after 31 yrs of ownership with The Mule. to win Lucky all you need to do is bid as this is a no-reserve auction. there is still some riding season left up north here and anyone could soon be riding Lucky behind it's greater hemisphere mark VI fairing . the plexiglass cleaned up nicely too. any question please feel free to ask and i'll answer them thru ebay for all to read or those wanting a more personal approach give us your phone number and we'll call you. those bidding without Mom's permission will be sent to bed without supper. scammers, save it, we've been to those rodeos.those with no, little or negative feedback please contact us BEFORE bidding or your bid could be cancelled and you could be blocked from bidding on anything we have in the future. we are willing to ship this anywhere but remember there is no title so that pretty much limits it to this country. any shipping quotes, arrangements etc... are to be done by the buyer. we do NOT to shipping quotes. 43351 is our zip code to be shipped from. read our feedback as we are proud of it. bid with confidence as we aim to maintain our integrity and feedback rating.
