Vehicle Detail
RELISTED DUE TO ZERO FEEDBACK NUISANCE BIDDER. 1988 Chevrolet Crew Cab 4 wheel drive 1 ton dually. 454 big block, fuel injection, 3 speed automatic transmission. I bought this truck in Denver, Colorado about 11 years ago. I repainted and undercoated it to preserve the body a year or two after I bought it. The rocker panels are still solid, but the drivers door is rusting out from a previous bondo repair job. Some light rust is showing on the bottom of the other doors, otherwise the body still looks pretty good. The red decals are pealing off a little. Chrome wheels are getting rusty.I haven't driven it much for the last 5 years, just around the farm for fire wood and a few trips hauling scrap metal with my trailer. Runs and drives, but runs hot. May have a cracked head. The water pump went out and it overheated. After I changed the water pump it runs hot. I hauled several loads of scrap metal last year with my gooseneck trailer and it ran hot during the 80 mile round trip. It does consume coolant, but not very much. There could be a small crack in the head going to the combustion chamber, buyer will need to determine appropriate repairs. I don't see any coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant, and the engine still runs strong. The front seat is an aftermarket unit I put in to replace the original worn seat.Homemade, extra heavy duty overbuilt gooseneck hitch.Tires have plenty of tread left, but are 11 years old, or older. I replaced the front two when I bought it. This truck has dual saddle tanks, both fuel pumps work as does the transfer switch. The brake light just came on and brakes feel spongy. I haven't looked into it, but typical when a vehicle sits around and isn't used enough. The master cylinder fluid level is still up, so not sure why the light is on. The front brakes lock up in the gravel, but the back brakes don't, so there is something wrong with the rear brakes. The four wheel drive works good, has manual hubs in front. I replaced the front hub u-joints about 6 or 7 years ago.AC pump is frozen. Heater works. Window switches in drivers door stopped working like Chevy trucks usually do. Numerous other little flaws and problems, but basically still a decent truck with a lot of life left in it if somebody wants to fix it up.This truck will need to be towed or driven away at buyers risk because of the brakes. Truck is located in McGregor, MN. Licence plate tabs are expired. THIS VEHICLE IS SOLD AS IS! I have disclosed as much information as I can so bidders know what they are getting. This truck isn't perfect, but I want to sell it for a reasonable price for all parties. I also have a 6.2 diesel engine with a 700R4 transmission and all the related parts that the buyer can buy for a reasonable price, if they are interested. I was going to swap the engine but lost ambition. I replaced the rings and gaskets on the diesel engine that had about 100,000 miles on it. It will probably need new injectors. I swapped the gauges in the instrument cluster with the diesel gauges, but still have the original gauges. The fuel gauge says diesel. I also installed a transmission temp gauge but it is not hooked up. After I listed this vehicle, I noticed the history report said there are major title issues, but only that it exceeded mechanical limits. Other than that I have a clear title to the truck. NOTICE: ANY BIDDERS WITH LESS THAN 5 FEEDBACK RATING WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY CANCELED AND BLOCKED!!! If you are serious about buying this truck and have less than 5 feedback, please contact me so I know you are serious about buying this truck. I am serious about selling it, and nobody has time to waste with nuisance zero feedback bidders.
