Vehicle Detail
Truly a barn find (or shall we say “storage facility” find)! ONE OWNER since it was purchased new at Hubbard Chevrolet just outside of Portland Oregon and owned by a dentist for the last 41 years. This HIGHLY original Blazer is as it was new with exception of one very professional repaint done 25 + years ago. Just servcied and fully inspected at the local Chevrolet dealer and started once a month for the last 10 years it spent in storage. Original engine has never left the engine bay and runs perfect with no smoking, rattles, knocks or otherwise. This K5 still has some of it's factory inspection marks on the firewall along with all correct engine badging and original factory tags on components such as the fender liner and the air cleaner. No flat spots in the carb, no brake pulsation, this one runs and drives great and we believe it to be dependable for any distance of driving. The four wheel drive works properly, it shifts perfect, no bearing noise to be found at all. The glove box door still retains it's option sheet, it even has it's original keys. Everything right down to the lighter works as it did when it was purchased new in '71. This vehicle is in no way restored, it is original and hasn't ever been modified in any way. This Blazer even still has it's original Oregon title and build sheet sticker on the inside of the glove box! If you want an original Blazer that hasn't fallen victim to multiple owners who just want a “stump jumper” or have put a K Mart stereo in and called it restored, then this one is it. Everything is there also if a mild restoration is on your mind also. If you have watched any collector car auctions you have plainly seen these original K5 Blazers are worth their weight in gold and are on the upswing as we speak! When was the last time an original one owner, non molested Blazer was ever offered for sale?? Condition: Again it is original however there is a small bit of rust bubbles at the bottom of the drivers and passengers doors and at the top of the tailgate (window channel that screws into the tail gate) which is not through the metal and looks to be surface rust. The firewall does have some rust that needs to be patched just above the heater core and is minimal at best. This is the worst I could tell of this vehicle!! The body is solid throughout. The original style seat covers may have been replaced at one time as they are free of any wear. The trim has small dings from parking lots. The door pulls and rear seat arm rests could use replacement. Said nicely the patina of this vehicle is of an unrestored yet stored properly 72 Blazer. Make no mistake, this is a light restoration project just waiting to happen even a novice could perform out of a catalog.
