This was a cool project to work on. I found this Cadi 5 miles from my uncles house in New Mexico. The lady that owned it said it was her husband that died a year earlier. She said that it had been sitting for over 30 years! The date on the tags confirmed it was last registered 1982. We inflated the tires, connected the fuel pump to a fresh container of gas and put a battery in. It came alive almost instantly as if it was waiting all along! We loaded it on the tow dolly and brought it home. I changed all the fluids, cleaned out the gas tank, new plugs, new filters, new brakes, valve cover gaskets, and power steering pump. It runs really really good! The transmission seams to stay a little longer in first than I would like, but the more I drive it the better it gets. We painted it the silver bluish color you see in the pictures. The interior is also brand new with a bone white leather and gray cloth combo. It really looks sweet! the engine seams to not be leaking any fluids and after a quick power wash, it looks very decent.Again this car had been sitting for over thirty years, so there are a few quirks the buyer would have to fix mechanically. The radio, wipers, and AC are not working. The motors all seam to be fairly easy to get to and look to be universal in Chevy and Cadillacs so repair will be minimal. All of the interior trim is there and it cleaned up good for the most part. The exterior trim is all there except for the fuel cover door that is very common to be missing on these cars as I found out via some specialized forums on line. The chrome looks good from a distance, but up close you can see there is some surface pitting, so if you want a show car get the bumpers rechromed. All the power windows work and the doors lock just fine. The glass is a really cool bluish hue and is complete, no dings or cracks on the windshield. The back window does have some scratches, but they dont bother me much so it should be cool for most new owners. All the rubber around the windows also would be wise to change. I don't think it leaks, but i live in a dessert and it does not rain much here. All in all I am sure you will enjoy this car! Please call me with any questions 575-650-2078.
