1968 VW Bug. Owned by popular author and featured in some of her writings and interviews. VERY clean little car, as many maintenance workers have commented. Owner has been approached in the street by several strangers before with offers to buy (once even from a neighboring driver at a stoplight!), but she is madly in love with this car and was not ready or willing to sell until now. Custom two-tone green and white paint job, and custom two-tone gray and white retro interior. Retrosound radio sound system (styled with the original 1960s look of the chrome and dials, but with modern technology, including hookup port for iPod). 95% complete. Clear title. Engine and carburetor rebuilt 6 months ago. Brakes, wheel cylinders and drums replaced 18 months ago. Received oil change and maintenance tune-up three weeks ago. Female-owned, nonsmoker-owned. Such a fun car to drive and turns a lot of heads wherever you go. Windshield wipers and horn need to be rewired. Paint job could use a touch up in a few places, as it is a few years old. Very small, shallow dent on right rear fender where some anonymous idiot backed into it in a parking lot recently. Probably could be popped/hammered out easily, but owner is a girly girl and doesn't want to take the chance of making it worse, so will leave that up to the buyer. Odometer does not work and will need to be fixed, but car has been driven less than 5,000 miles on the new engine. Additional photos to be added to this listing soon. Owner's heart is breaking to sell her sweet little Bug (aka "Kermit"), which she has poured a lot of love into, but she is forced to move much further away from work and has resigned herself to the fact that she will need a newer car conducive to long freeway drives.
