This car was the basis for my 2006 book “Rebuilding and Turbocharging my 1973 Fiat 850 Bertone Spider” Which sold in 15 countries and half the U.S. The turbo was sold as a kit to a buyer in Australia, but there was less than 200 miles on the engine (This no longer has the turbo). The engine was rebuilt in John Edward’s shop with JE pistons, Porsche beehive valve springs and a stroker crankshaft making about 903cc, costing in total around $1900. It runs perfectly (you're more than welcome to come by before the auction ends to take a test drive) and has a PBS water pump, electric radiator fan, electric fuel pump, 1-wire alternator, remote oil filter and electronic ignition. I removed the bumpers and smoothed off the front end and replaced the rusted out taillights with early Toyota units. It has a flow through muffler and custom chrome exhaust (see picture). The car was recently painted and has a detachable fiberglass hardtop. The rear springs enclose AirLift bladders that allow adjusting the spring pressure from 5psi to 35psi (where it is now). The tires are new. Another project forces the sale. This is being relisted due to a previous auction winner failing to complete the purchase, yet he decided to give me poor feedback...
