This V W Westy is being listed due to the passing of a dear friend . This Vanagon was purchased by the current owners in 2002 with 183400 miles and used on race weekends at Road America in Wisconsin during SCCA race weekends . The odometer stopped at 208000, from the fuel logs I estimate the actual mileage as 260000 . The engine was replaced with a new factory long block at approximately 170000 miles and there is a comprehensive log of fuel,maintenance and repair receipts that come with the van. This Vanagon was last used in 2009 and has always been stored inside. It appears that the original Florida owners spent a lot of money trying to keep the air conditioning operational but it doe's not work at this time. I replaced the starter and battery and drove the Van 120 miles from it's long term storage with out a problem but Due to the age of this V W and the complicated cooling system I would recommend a major service before taking a long trip. This Vanagon is not leaking coolant or oil and is very dry on the underside. Rust proofing was applied when new and except for the rusty seam shown in the pictures on the drivers side rocker panel this Van is very clean.
