NO RESERVE AUCTION Welcome. You are bidding on an excellent original 1968 Porsche 912 coupe. This is a great chance to get into an early SWB car at a NO RESERVE auction. I have a clean California pink slip ready to handoff to the next owner. This car has current registration and is ready to be driven/ enjoyed. Please take a look at the picture/videos and description below. Please let me know if you have any other additional questions. I can help arrange out of state or overseas shipping. http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii152/MrBMW2002/1968912coupe/ VIN:12820268 Engine Number : 1284021 Color Code: Rare optional color of 30847 Dark Red Metallic License Plates: Both Original to the Car WND995 History: This has been an original California car and has been very well cared for. It has seen minimal use throughout its life and is the reason why it has 78,000 original miles. This car has been in dry storage for some time and was only occasionally driven. I have its original tool kit, however the many of the factory Porsche tools have been replaced. Exterior: This car was originally left the factory with 30847 of Dark Red Metallic; it still retains that original color. According to the 912 registry there is only one other 912 that is registered that is painted this color. It has only had one repaint in its life and the paint still shows very well. There is no rust, accidents, or collisions on this car. It still retains its original pans/front suspension pan. The doors shut very nicely and still ping. The gaps are in excellent shape as well. Both the front hood and rear deck lid have working shocks and stay up on their own. There is no bondo or rot on this car. This car has very nice chrome, glass, lenses and moldings. Interior: This car still has its original 1968 interior. It has very nice uncut door panels, crack free dash, working gauges etc. It has its original carpets and seats which are in nice shape. This car still has its original steering wheel and horn button which all work great. The original radio has been replaced with a later Blaupunkt radio. Engine/Transmission: This car fires right up and makes very good power. It idles well and sounds great. It has a very smooth shifting 5spd transmission. The transmission goes into all of its gears smoothly and does not crunch or grind. This is the original engine to the car and has been upgraded with Weber 40’s carbs. The carbs do pop a bit here and there and would suggest a simple tuning. This car can be driven on a long trip. Wheels/Suspension: This car is fitted with 5 original Fuchs wheels. These wheels are the real deal. The suspension and brakes on this car are in very good shape. They do not drag or squeak. The rear calipers have been recently redone. This car has Bilstien shocks and they are in very good shape. The ride is very comfortable and firm. Overall: This is a very good example of an early SWB 912. It has all of the right things going for it; rare color, numbers matching engine, solid rust free body. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.
