Vehicle Detail
This is my beloved 1981 Honda Civic WAGON.It has been a project of mine for over a year, and unfortunately, it is time to let it go.I have to sell it because I am moving out of the state and can't take it with me. )-:It has had a TON of work done to it during the time that I have had it.The engine has been almost completely rebuilt. HAS NEW:Main crank bearings,Rod bearings,Front and rear main seals,Piston rings,Valves, Camshaft,Rocker arms,Valve guides,Valve stem seals,Thermostat,Temperature fan switch,Battery,Carburetor,The head was milled and hot-tanked,Catalytic converter,Muffler,ALL NEW gaskets on everything, AND I'm sure there is more I can't remember off the top of my head. All the work was done and the Mengez Twins Speed Shop, and Oberts Automotive, locally in my town.Unfortunately I don't keep receipts for anything, unless there are some laying around inside the car that I haven't thrown away yet. On my way to getting it smogged, I believe it blew one or more valve stem seals. That is making it burn what I believe to be oil. It still runs, but should not be driven much until the valve stem seals are replaced.Again, that is what I and a few other people have DEDUCED the problem to be and there is NO GUARANTEE.Because of that it is being sold AS-IS with NO REFUNDS OR WARRANTY ...But I'm assuming someone is going to be buying this for a project like me, so that should be irrelevant! The chassis has 134,019 miles on it, but since the engine was rebuilt it has only gone 365 miles.I'm assuming the valve stem seal was installed improperly for it to blow so quickly. Here is a video walk around of the car, in which I start it up and show details of damage:http://youtu.be/Ze8oO7cYBhc The car was NON-OP'ed about a week ago and there are no back fee's.Though the tags are still current I believe. Full payment within 7 days of auction end!I think this car is worth close to $5000.00 in running condition as a collectors item. The reserve has been set at a VERY MODEST $1000.I say "VERY MODEST" Because I have invested close to $6k in this vehicle. CLEAN TITLE IN MY NAME READY TO SELL!!! Please ask me any questions you might have and I will do my best to answer them!On Sep-29-12 at 09:10:56 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDED TWO NEW PICTURES OF ENGINE!ALSO, I forgot, it also has a new oil pump, new freeze plugs, new oil, new oil filter, and new colant in it!On Oct-01-12 at 09:41:17 PDT, seller added the following information: And yes, the fact that something happened to it on it's way to get smog did PREVENT it from getting smogged.i.e. it is not smogged and probably won't pass untill repaired.
