Vehicle Detail

This is my 1953 Kaiser Dragon. It was listed prior by someone else wanting to profit off its sale, That didn't work out. I am now listing it myself and it can be seen in person if you wish. message me for my number or any questions. I bought the car about three years ago from a well known Kaiser collector and parts seller. It had set many years in Ramona CA and had been in Oregon prior to that. I still have the YOM Oregon plates that came on it. The mileage on the odometer at the time was 33k and was told it was original. It now has a bit over 35k. Due to the long storage and the prior owners bad attempt to freshen up the engine and transmission, I had to rebuild the engine and replace the transmission. That rebuild included piston rings, exhaust valves, cam, rod and main bearings along with having the crankshaft ground and micro polished. I even spent a couple days hand porting and polishing the intake and exhaust ports in the block. I also port matched the exhaust manifold to the block. The transmission had a $1700 rebuild about 5k miles ago (i have the reciept) I rebuilt the brake master and all four wheel cylinders along with new front and rear brake shoes and resurfaced all four drums. The front wheel bearings and seals are new. The rear axle bearings have been greased, the differential has been drained, the cover removed, cleaned and reinstalled with a new gasket and gear oil installed. The tires are old but have like new tread and are nitrogen filled (including the spare that has never been used. The front shocks are new. I rebuilt the carburetor and fuel pump then dropped the gas tank and cleaned and sealed it. The radiator has been professionally cleaned and all the hoses are good. The belts are new and the car has factory power steering. I paid $900.00 to Vintage Coach in Fontana to fix all the lighting and dash gauge function. They also had the starter motor rebuilt for me. The battery is new as is the reproduction plug wires that I just installed last week. I had the clock, radio, and the heater control valve rebuilt this year. Everything works on this car accept the windshield washer pump because I never attached the vacuum hose at the firewall to the base of the carburetor. (an easy fix) I replaced most all the Gold plated jewelry on the car with really nice parts along with new front and rear K emblems. The car is an original Maroon Velvet Metallic car with a repaint of that color. It has chips in it and there are some small imperfections in the sheet metal that wont show up in the pictures. The vinyl top is tired but not tattered. The interior of the car is original with accept for the cloth inserts. You K/F experts know this already but it looks very nice none the less. I just completed a 600 mile round trip from Bloomington to San Simeon CA and it performed flawlessly. These cars have a reputation of being underpowered , but I have not found that to be the case with this one. It purrs down the freeway effortlessly. This car is fully sorted out and will be a joy to own and drive. If you ever wanted to own an ultra rare flashy American car from the 50's, don't let this one get away. Fly in to Ontario or LA international and drive it home. I am pricing it for a quick sale as I am motivated to move on to a new project. My fun is finding and fixing them. The buy it now price covers my money investment and none of my labor. This is a sweet deal for that lucky someone! This no reserve auction sale will be final with no warranty and I will expect payment within seven days of the end of auction. On Oct-02-12 at 12:38:33 PDT, seller added the following information: Winning bidder will also receive a complete set of factory repair and parts manuals along with some NOS and good used parts I have collected. I easily have several hundred dollars invested in these
