This car was the basis for my 2006 book “Rebuilding and Turbocharging my 1973 Fiat 850 Bertone Spider” Which sold in 15 countries and half the U.S. The turbo was sold as a kit to a buyer in Australia, but there was less than 200 miles on the engine. The engine was rebuilt in John Edward’s shop with JE pistons, Porche beehive valve springs and a stroker crankshaft making about 903cc. It runs perfectly and has a PBS water pump, electric radiator fan, electric fuel pump, 1-wire alternator, and remote oil filter and electronic ignition. I removed the bumpers and smoothed off the front end and replaced the taillights with early Toyota units. It has a flow through muffler and twin tailpipes of my own design and construction. The car was recently painted and has a detachable fiberglass hardtop. The rear springs enclose AirLift bladders that allow adjusting the spring pressure from 5psi to 35psi (where it is now). The tires are new. Another project forces the sale.
