Vehicle Detail

I am selling this beautiful 1990 454SS C1500 pickup. This truck is very very clean. It has either been garaged or covered for most of its life. It has never been driven on salt covered roads. The body is totally rust free. I bought it used in Virginia from the original owner in 1998 with 27,000 miles on it. He was a retired guy that kept it in his garage, and drove it occasionally to meet friends at the drive-in or a car show. The truck was also with me in Los Angeles, CA and Peoria, IL....in both places it was stored and rarely driven. I'm now back in Illinois, and I must move again. I no longer wish to store the truck, and hope to find it a new loving home. Please note - I am moving out the area, so you must be able to take delivery very soon after the auction ends. If you have any concerns about this, please contact me. Here are some more details about the truck: SPECIAL NOTES:1.) This truck was listed here on eBay about a year ago, but the buyer backed out because I would not let him drive the truck back to Texas with my plates. I will remove the plates from the truck before selling it. 2.) Be prepared to provide the name and address of the buyer, so I can fill out the Seller's Report of Sale and mail it to the Illinois Secretary of State (this releases me from any connection or responsibility to the truck...in case you decide to run drugs with it, lol).3.) You must take delivery of the truck before Oct 10th...like I said above, I'm moving out of the area.4.) There is a $500 deposit due with 48hrs of winning the bid. The truck is in nearly stock form, with the following tasteful upgrades: Belltech 2” / 4” drop kit, Recalibrated Bilstein shocks for drop kit Rear air bags to assist stock leaf springs for increased load carrying capacity ZR-1 style rear bumper cover Hidden hitch (behind ZR-1 bumper) Flip up license plate (to access hitch) Flowmaster muffler with custom exhaust Tinted side windows Solid rear window Leather wrapped steering wheel Billet aluminum shifter Custom aluminum wheels Extang bed cover Plastic bed liner Billet aluminum antenna “454-SS” insignia on each door 180deg thermostat Hayden fan clutch (to match 180deg thermostat) Jet fan switch for auxiliary fan (to match 180deg thermostat) Moroso chrome valve covers Moroso chrome air cleaner cover Newer style GM aluminum radiator Transgo transmission shift kit Recent maintenance / repairs include: Oil / filter every 3k miles Brakes – front and rear New rear axles seals New front upper control arm bushings New u-joints New A/C pump and dryer Transmission flush / filter Coolant flush New GM cruise control switch on steering column New GM interior headliner Bodywork history: Truck was backed into by another truck in a parking lot around 2000. Tailgate was dented and the ZR-1 bumper was cracked. Both items were replaced with new parts (GM tailgate). No other damage. Truck was keyed left /right sides around 2003 – both sides repainted. While in the shop, I had the sliding rear window replaced with a solid window and the cab was repainted as well. Also, new 454SS decals were installed on the rear quarter panels. I rear ended a Volkswagen around 2004. Front bumper, grill were damaged. All parts were replaced with new GM parts. While the truck was in the shop, all the front lights were replaced and the hood was repainted. Noteworthy information: The valve cover gaskets began leaking around 100,000miles. I have new gaskets, but have not yet installed them. The truck will drip a little oil after a medium to long drive. The oil pressure gauge sending unit quit working a while back. Planned on replacing it with the valve cover gaskets. A/C has lost its charge. It just needs to be evacuated and recharged. The body is totally rust free…but realize GM did not paint the axles or suspension parts with much enthusiasm. So the rear axle housing and suspension parts have the typical surface corrosion. There is only one small “ding” in the paint behind the gas filler tube…hardly noticeable. See the pictures for more details. There are few road chips in the hood and a couple on the front bumper. See the pictures for more details. The paint on the front edge of the hood, just off center on the driver's side, needs to be touched up. Not very noticeable. See the pictures for more details. The truck bed is in perfect shape...always been covered with the plastic shell. No dings, dents or rust. Just some rub marks from the plastic shell. The truck 100% street legal in all 50 states. It passed emissions and visual inspections in both Virginia and California. The air bags assist the factory installed leaf springs...they do not replace them. The main function for the air bags is too keep the truck level when carrying a heavy load, or pulling a loaded trailer. Extra parts (included with sale): I have a nice red matching 454SS fabric 40/60 bench seat I will include with the sale I will include the new valve cover gaskets (Fel-pro brand I believe) I will include the spare tire relocation kit that goes with the ZR-1 bumper…I never installed it. I will include the custom fitted California Car Cover made from Superweave material, including cable / lock and wind straps. Extra parts (available separately from this auction): I have a set of 3.23 gears for this truck new in the box. They are very very hard to find. From the factory, the rear end comes with 3.73s. 3.42 and 4.11 are common swaps. If you’re looking for more of a road gear, the 3.23 is a nice option. I am NOT including these gears with this auction, but I do have a set, and you will get first right of refusal once I put them up for sale. I bought an on-board compressor, tank and gauge set for the air bag system. Currently, the air bags are manually filled by valves under the license plate…like with an air hose from your local gas station. Installing an on-board compressor would allow adjusting the air pressure in the bags while on the go. I am NOT including the compressor kit with this auction, but you will get first right of refusal once I put it up for sale.I have a Whipple Supercharger kit specifically designed for the 454SS sport truck. It is in very good condition, and it includes the supercharger and all the accessories including the installation manual. I am NOT including the supercharger kit with this auction, but you will get first right of refusal once I put it up for sale.
