Everything you have read about the 240d being one of the most durable, stylish, and sought after vehicles ever made is true. Although it is quite slow to pick up, it is nimble and fun to drive. My girlfriend loves being seen in this car, the immaculate condition makes for a real head turner. I purchased this car from the original owner who bought it in Florida. About 12 years later he moved to Utah with his wife. He was not a collector, but a man with class and a propensity to keep his baby 240d in top condition inside and out. The original owner was moving on and didn't have time to drive it and indoor storage was getting expensive. I bought this car in hopes to eventually gain mobile independence and run on vegetable oil. However, this car was so pristine and original I couldn't fathom making any alterations. Something about how well this car had been kept made me want to keep it 100% original. This car has never been in any accidents of any kind, and has not been restored in any way, it is completely original (except for the sound system, in which nothing has been cut or altered, just replaced). I have read a lot of literature about these cars and know the market for them. There are many sellers out there that claim "they bet you won't find a nicer 240d out there". Well, my 240d will give them all a run for their money. These cars need to be driven to be properly stored. The greatest thing about this 240d is that it has been driven enough to keep it in top shape without racking up too many miles; These cars laugh at high miles. Expect this one to last forever! Aside for being cared for at the highest expectation, This 240d has had preventative maintenance to insure longevity and mechanical soundness. A rebuilt clutch, new brake pads and rotors w/ a full brake service, new tires, and recent oil, oil filter, and fuel filter service. This car has good firm brakes, no wear on the clutch and shifts with ease. The sound system was recently updated with Infinity speakers and a Kenwood head unit that has iPod (usb) port as well as a regular jack aux for other music devices. I also added an infinity Basslink Component Subwoofer in the trunk. It is a component subwoofer, which means the amplifier is built in, minimizing excess wiring and maximizing trunk space. The sound system doesn't "bump", it just sounds good and balanced. Exterior Condition: The exterior is 100% original and in perfect condition. There are a couple of micro sized rock chips on the hood (pictured). Aside from that, there is absolutely NO RUST ANYWHERE. This car has been stored inside its whole life and rarely driven in wet conditions. The original protective cosmoline undercoating has kept this car from corrosion and remains in great shape. There is no corrosion of any kind in any area of this car. The chrome on the bumpers is brilliant and the rubber is untouched. the hub caps are slightly weathered, but have no physical damage. All emblems are original and in tact. Interior Condition: The interior excels as much as the exterior. There are no signs of wear on the interior. The original floor mats are in great condition. The drivers side mat has more wear than the other mats. The carpet underneath is mint. There are no stains, tears, frays, or warping. The dash is perfect. No cracks or scratches of any sort on the wood trim or dash. The front seats have custom wool seat covers that have been on for the life of the car. The covers have kept the MB-Tex leather like new. The back seat has hardly been used making them perfect as well. There is no fading, scratches, deformations, or anything that would be considered wear on the seats. The wool seat cover on the driver side has an area that has been rubbed by the seat belt, but has not worked through the cover (pictured). The nets on the back of the front seats are nice and tight. Everything inside looks amazing and works wonderfully. Mechanical Condition: This car is tip top mechanically. The coveted 4 speed manual transmission makes this car that much better. It has always had routine maintenance, as well as preventative maintenance. The tires were installed 5,000 miles ago. The A/C is still plumbed for R12. I don't need A/C where I live so I have not bothered to convert it to R134a or recharge the R12. The compressor works great, no leaks. The heater blows HOT. The cruise control works, but will sometimes fully accelerate rather than cruise. The brakes are perfect, as they were replaced earlier in its life. Clutch is smooth and tight. No grinding or slipping. I have all of the original keys: 3 regular keys and 2 valet keys. This car is also equipped with an engine block heater in case it gets cold. The FM antennae works great. Everything works in this car. I can send any detailed pictures or video to demonstrate functions or show evidence of its pristine beauty. Unfortunately for me I have to sell this little cream puff to make room in my garage and save for future endeavors. I have all of the maintenance/service accounted for in the Mercedes Maintenance booklet with certified stamps since day 1. There may have been an error with the DMV when the original owner titled the car in Utah. As you can see in the report, "not actual miles" is shown on ever year, but the miles recorded when it was serviced were low and consistent. The condition of the car is living proof that the odometer is accurate. Rest assured, I am working to figure this out, and can send any pictures or videos for validations. On Sep-21-12 at 11:18:42 PDT, seller added the following information: I called the Utah DMV today (801-297-7780) and got the low down on the odometer discrepancy. In the state of Utah, after 10 years, they do not calculate milage of vehicles; therefore, the titles are "EXEMPT" from an odometer disclosure. You can see in the title renewal that it is "Exempt" in 2011. The DMV made an error in the earlier renewals, but they said they cannot go back and change it. This DOES NOT mean that the the odometer is false, that is why Autocheck also has an odometer check. In the case of my 240D the odometer is checked as "OK", and I also have all the records to prove legitimate mileage. The odometer has always worked and has never been tampered with. This 240D is not one to pass up. The condition is absolutely stunning! I will gladly take my car to anybody within my area (including Salt Lake City) at my expense to have it checked out if anyone has reservations.
