Vehicle Detail

Here we go. I have personally owned this H1 since approximately 2001. I drove it between 3 and 5 days a week to work and back which is close to 80 miles round trip. I specifically wanted a gas powered Hummer because I can't stand the smell of diesel, hate looking for fuel stations that have diesel, and at the time the H1's only came with the 6.5L GM engine which is garbage. Around the fall 0f 2003 the heater core started to leak. It is a pretty big job to replace, so I upgraded the whole system to the newer style system with the new 134-A system, better controls and better blower motor. The heat works extremely well. It was close to a $6500 upgrade at the time. I developed an exhaust leak and it was the passenger side exhaust manifold which was cracked (common with this vehicle) so I installed Edelbrock ceramic coated headers and had a local performance exhaust shop modify the Y pipe to work, and it worked well. The transfer case starting getting a little sloppy the winter of 2005 (The wear pads starting going) so I bought a NEW transfer case in March of 2005. I drove the Hummer for another 7 months and the transmission started to act up when shifting from (If I remeber correctly) 2nd to 3rd. They thought it may be the shift solenoid, but weren't 100% positive. I parked it in the garage behind my shop for a few years since I had 3 other cars to drive so I figured I'd work on it when time allowed. The inspection stickers are still on it as pictured. May of 2009 I decided to fix it, and pulled it out and cleaned it up. I drove it a bit and the trans was still the same. Then a rod started to mildly knock or a wrist pin was going bad. Well, from sitting, either a head gasket went or the block cracked. I pulled the dipstick and water was in the oil. Just great. I decided to pull the engine and trans. I had the transmission rebuilt by Delaware Valley Transmissions in Collingswood NJ. They did all the clutches, seals, solenoids, and torque converter. I was going to put a 383 stroker motor in it...but could never seem to get the time to do it. Last spring some lower than life piece of trash broke into the garage and stole the radiator, oil/transmission cooler and torque converter to sell as scrap. They also took some miscellaneous stuff like the a/c compressor, main wiring harness, undercarriage protection cage, transmission crossmember, and some small odds and ends. So these are the parts you will need in addition to the engine. I still have the original engine if you want to restore the vehicle to factory specs, but I would definetly recommend having it magnafluxed to make sure it was the head gaskets. I have the ECM. I have the original Warn winch with hand controls. The windshields are PERFECT. I had just replaced them prior to parking it. The top and tanneu covor are in above average shape. The interior has some rips and tears, and the body has some normal paint flaking from the aluminum body. It has an Alpine stereo. The wheels are Weld Stonecrushers that have been modified to work with the CTIS system and work. The CTIS compressor works, but I never had it engaged because the rear passenger side three way valve leaked. The tires are Dick Cepek Kevlars, and the runflat rings are not inside. I put a receiver up front and had plans to mount the winch on a cradle that could be used in the front of the vehicle or the rear. I never had time to run power to either. The winch will need a new motor but the cable is in good shape. I own this Hummer outright. I have the title in hand, so please have the money to buy it BEFORE you bid. If you have a line of credit that can cover your bid, GREAT. If you need to go get a loan, please don't bid unless you can secure the funds within 7 days. I am not looking for any trades. This is a nice vehicle with tons of potential. Lots of people build suburbans to look like hummers and spend more than my starting bids just for the kits. If you are into diesels, this is a clean slate to work with to install your Duramax, Cummins, or 7.3L Ford engine. If you don't like diesels, you can definetly put this truck back together for way under 20k depending on how the bidding goes. I definetly will not part this vehicle out, I'd rather keep it so don't ask, the frame is in great shape. I'd like to see someone buy it who will appreciate it as much as I have. Many memories of hunting trips and 4-wheeling I have with this Hummer. I WILL NOT, send this truck overseas. No way shape or form. With all that is going on between our country and those over seas I WILL NOT let this vehicle go over there. I will do everything I can to help in every other shipping aspect. If I sell it...great...if not i'll keep it and start working on it for the winter. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. I will email you back with answers or will call you if you give me your phone number and times you can be reached.
