Vehicle Detail

My 1979 Spitfire that I won't have time for. Overall in need of resoration -conditon. Just don't have the time and moving to a new location and have no garage. The rocker panels are rusty, but floors and trunk seem in good shape as well as the frame. Has brand new cap, plugs rotor, wires and battery. Car fires up well with starting fluid or gas in the Weber carb, but does not stay running. Did not get into the reason why-cleaned fuel pump screen and gave it fresh gas, but obviously it didn't correct the problem. Noticed the carb was leaking gas when filled with gas. As mentioned, it needs a full easy restoration. Has an aftermarket wooden steering wheel and Weber carb, other than that it seems original. I think it had a repaint once before. Overall it's in ok shape with lots of rust on the rockers on both sides. There is a rust spot shown on the picture by the flat part of the soft top that is on the left side. The top is in good shape. All tires hold air EXCEPT the left front tire. The valve is cracked after putting air in. Wanted to inflate to roll it out and the valve has dry rot so it cracked while inflating. Upon it's short time running, the gas gauge worked and electrical seemed good when just using the new battery. Horn, blinkers, gas gauge, headlights, blower motor all worked. Unknown if fan for the radiator works because it did not run long enough. I noticed gas leaking from the carb. when priming it to fire. I did not hear any valve/rod knocks in the short time it ran. The engine number is FM12215VE. Radiator seems to be holding fluids good just by observing it while sitting. Hood is in good shape with some rust in usual places but not bad. Left drivers door needs to be re-aligned but does stay closed. All glass is intact. The left mirror glass is missing. The rubber bumpers are faded (the usual). It has no Catalytic converter but 4 pipes coming into one from the manifold, so take that into consideration also. In the short time running the exhaust sounded good. Of course this is a restoration projects and is sold "AS IS-WHERE IS" with no guarantees. It would be a great winter project with not much work. I found the frame, trunk, and floors in good shape. Typical dash cracks-houndstooth black and white interior ok shape. Have keys for trunk and ignition. RESTORATION PROJECT!!!! please keep that in mind. I start all my auctions at .99 cents with no reserve. I have been doing this for years, so let the bidders decide what it is woth. It has a clear PA title that I have not switched over. It will need to be towed/flatbed out of my location within a reasonable amount of time after auction. What you see is what you get and no refunds. ASK any questions before the bid ends- I will truthfully answer to the best of my knowldege. Please don't play games or have a million questions AFTER the auction ends or when you buy it and are surprised by something you did not inquire about. I am selling at NO RESERVE and I can't deal with idiots!!! Will not ship or deliver. If you need to speak in person, please ask for my phone # if serious. I had it mistakenly listed on 9/19 in the classified ad by mistake and apologize for the mishap. Meant to put it online for auction to the highest bidder. Good luck and happy bidding. On Sep-20-12 at 15:01:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Just an added note- I had the valve stem repalced and all 4 wheels are holding air. Not a big deal, but much easier to roll for pick/up, tow, flatbed-whatever. Just thought I would add this in!
