Vehicle Detail

( corvette is relisted because the last bidder could not complete the sale) 1963 corvette convertible. This car has been stored in a shed for many years. The original engine had been replaced years ago with a early 1970's solid lifter 350 chevy which apparently had not been run since the installation. I reconnected the engine wiring, belts, hoses, and clutch linkage. The motor runs strong. The transmission appears to be the original borg warner 4-speed with a changed out hurst shifter. The clutch does not work like it should (possible throw-out bearing). The car runs good and drives down the road ok, considering. It has weathered bias ply tires from the 70's. For restoration this corvette will also need rubber body mounts (weathered), headlights, grill, some bumber brackets, carpeting, some trim, spare tire tub, front bumbers and probably a number of smaller misc. items. The front body has had some damage and non quality repairs. The hood channels have some cracks. The right inner fender has some damage. The headlight nose should probably be replaced. All wheel wells need some work. The rear body corners have had some repairs but is mostly original fiberglass and is saveable. Mechanical items like brakes and u-joints should be gone through. The frame has surface rust from sitting but is solid. This car has a hard top only (shown with the rest of the parts included). The gauges are in good condition and mostly working. The machanical tachometer will work but there is no tach drive distributor. The dash and door panels are not perfect but usable originals. The paint color was changed from original white to black. Some of it is black primer. It should all be repainted. The exhaust is hooker side pipes, the passenger side pipe was missing so I made a rat rod stove pipe muffler complete with a glass packed insert. It sounds great... The birdcage looks clean with original primer. This car is a candidate restoration or restomod. Also has the high rpm tach, and a stamped hole in the radiator support. I was told the hole was for a fuel injected air cleaner? This Corvette is will be sold with no reserve. Buyer to pick up within three weeks of purchase. I can possibly help arrange for transport and can load on a trailer. Thanks.
