First, this is a 50 year old little British roadster.......This car is very restorable, odometer reads 51,000 miles which may not be accurate but I believe it based on mechanical condition....it is original as it retains its 1622 engine, transmission...the rear end is original...The car sat for 30+ years in a truck box, the previous owner had started it from time to time over the years and claims he used to drive it around his parking lot a few times. I believe most of that, when I got it, I cleaned the carburetor bowls, changed the oil and the car started...once the acorns and such were done blowing out of the exhaust pipe, it sounded good and ran until the fuel source ran out (gravity feed as the gas tank is out of the car) We rebuilt the clutch slave, bled it out and the car shifts very well. I've gone though the brake system and they work and are fine for moving in and out of the garage...I rebuilt the master (both sides) and installed new rear cylinders and all brake hoses, but did not replace the shoes or disc pads. The body has dings and experience all over it in a normal sort of way being 50 and all but will not be too difficult to restore. The frame has some rust damage in the usual MGA places...around the wood floor outer edges, I have roughed in some patches there,but rust damage extends, on the driver side, to the lower bottom of the frame rail. Frame-wise, the front and rear sections are very good solid structures, all shock and spring mounts are good, all cross members are solid and straight. The car does not sag in the middle. The original red leather interior is fairly complete and...well ...original. The windshield is there, has light scratch marks...has a fairly new top with clear windows...works well. I had everything electrical working...one tail light is broken, the windshield washer pump is seized...it may free up. The dash is there and complete....Trunk is solid, gas tank does not leak, straps are worn out. Body-wise, the front fenders are solid originals, the doors, hood and trunk do not have any serious rust, the right rear fender is original and in not too good-a shape, the left rear was replaced with an earlier MGA fender. The car has rocker panels looks like one factory original and one aftermarket one (in the trunk at this point)...the A-pillars are very good the B- pillars need to be rebuilt or replaced and the sills need to be replaced and rockers installed. I made some replacement battery boxes that need to be installed. The original fuel pump was missing, I have an early MGB fuel pump to replace it. I replaced most of the floor boards with new and the originals I retained are in excellent condition. I also replaced the floor supports that were damaged. I'm sure that does not cover everything...I always recommend viewing the car before buying, if that is not possible then please ask questions and request pictures. It's a great car to restore! I installed a front stabilizer...as per mgaguru...I have more pictures I can send (to your email address) and/or I can easily take specific pictures on request.
