1972 280SE 4.5 75,800 original miles Tobacco Brown Exterior / Cognac InteriorOriginal Owners Manual Books in the Original Glove Box Packet This is an excellent example of an original 280SE 4.5 Sedan that has not been altered or molested in any way. It is one of three Mercedes owned by a retired physician in his 80’s. The paint is original on an undamaged, original body. The interior overall is excellent original including the Becker Europa stereo radio (may need repair). All mechanical items are functioning including the gauges and the cold Air Conditioning. This week, it was driven for almost two hours at mostly highway speeds when it was brought to our showroom, and it drove and performed flawlessly. Because of its originality, the paint has an overall chalky/clouded appearance, and would most certainly benefit from a rub-out and wax, however, the decision was made to leave it in its “barn find”-like state. We have not even given this car a bath. There are two minor paint blister areas along the lower trim which can be seen in the photos. Overall, the chrome is original and excellent. The glass is original (including the windshield). New front brake calipers and pads (200 miles ago). Minor flaws should be expected with the age and use of a forty year old vehicle.
