Vehicle Detail

My 1992 968 is in pretty good condition, not perfect, but pretty good. There are your common issues with almost all of these cars, in addition to normal stone chips that anyone would expect with a car of this age and mileage. As far as mechanically, I feel really good about it. The only issue that I am aware of is that the transaxle needs to have syncro's replaced. The only issue is that 3rd gear will grind. At low speeds, it isn't a problem. The car has been like this the entire time that I have owned it and have never given me any trouble, I simply don't use 3rd. Missing 3rd really doesn't hurt the car, as the car has enough power that going from 2nd to 4th doesn't make the car feel underpowered at all. The interior is in great shape. The only major issue is that the top of the dash is faded, but no cracking at all. I keep it conditioned well and it's not that noticeable. The seats, door panels, console, carpet, and headliner are in excellent condition. The leather on the gear shift knob has started to crack and will need to be replaced to make the interior in top shape. I have owned this car for 4 years and the car has never given me any major problems at all. When I bought this car from the previous owner I drove the car over 1,200 miles home and it performed perfect. I have only driven the car less than 5,000 miles total since I have owned it, but drive it almost every weekend to make sure it doesn't sit too long. The wheels and tires on this were over $5,000, and they look absolutely amazing. The previous owner put these on when the car just before I bought it, so the tires only have around 5k on them. All in all, I think the reserve price on this car is very fair for what this car brings the the table. I think my favorite thing about this car is how rare it is and the attention that this car gets whenever I drive it. I literally have had a group of people around the car on many occasions. Practically every time I drive it someone asks me about it. I would guess that over half the time they say they've never seen a 968. That's pretty cool to drive something that is so unique. I have receipts going back about 10 years. I will list what maintenance has been recently done. Timing belt at 118,430 Balance shaft belt at 118,430 Balance shaft gear at 118.430 Alternator, belts, battery, lower radiator hose, and thermostat within the past year.
