Vehicle Detail

This is a relist. I apologize for the quick ending of my last auction but I realized that the car had some back taxes and tag fees due from the years it has been sitting and wanted to make sure it was all cleared up before the next owner had an unpleasant experience at the tag office =) The car Now has Current GA TAG and is insured although it is currently NOT Drivable. And will have to be towed. I have been told this is one of the most collectible Beetles of its time. I don’t believe I have ever seen Volkswagen do so many factory changes on a Beetle. The wheels, the seats, the steering wheel, the trim color, the shifter and stripping. This car was truly a mark in Volkswagen history see www.sebeetles.com or google 1973 VW Sports Bug to find out more information on this Rare Limited Edition Volkswagen This car was manufactured in February 1973 Up for sale is my 1973 Volkswagen Sports Bug. This is a limited edition run Volkswagen offered in 1973 only. It has Special seats, shifter, Wider Wheels. It looks ok in pictures but this car is a 50 footer. Although I don’t see any signs of rust its current paint job and body work leave much to be desired. (Nothing was taped off when it was painted) and much of its original black trim is now yellow. With the exception of the battery tray which is starting to go bad (see pictures) The rest of the pan is in good shape. The owner’s manual still has the insert for the Special seats. It has 4 of the original ET 26 rims. Two of the tires are practically brand new. The other two will need to be replaced soon but still hold air. The brakes work good and the engine Ran when parked. But I recently Pulled it out to rebuild it. It sounded a little noisy last time it started up. The end play feels good and it turns over smooth but it just didn’t sound right to me. I Just don’t have the current time or space to keep all my toys/projects so I am forcing myself to let this one go (if the price is right lol) It has two new (with in the last year) front tires, new master cylinder, Newer battery, new front windshield and window seals. no evidence of any accidents. The car has what appears to be an original HURST SHIFTER, I was told the clutch was replaced when I bought it, The interior is complete and original. I am not sure about the steering wheel. The current one is cracked. There was another one in the car. Which is included. It looks to be in pretty shape. (see pictures) It will need carpet; the drivers seat has a tear on the backrest (see pictures) All and all this is a great candidate for restoration. It looks like all the fenders, hood, doors, deck lid and so on are original German but some don’t look to be original to the car due to the paint color on the underside. Not sure what else I can say. Don’t be deceived by the pictures the paint is BAD and it will need to be completely stripped. I don’t see any significant signs of rust but the paint is thick. Please ask any questions before bidding. Must be picked up in 14 days. GA BILL OF SALE ONLY!! NO TITLE This car will be sold on a GA BILL OF SALE ONLY! NO TITLE THIS VEHICLE IS ALSO FOR SALE LOCALLY! IF YOU WISH TO MAKE A REASONABLE OFFER I WILL CONSIDR ADDING A "BUY IT NOW" This is 1 of only 5,000 and seems to have all of it original accessories and is quite possibly one of the most collectible Volkswagen of its time From www.sebeetles.com This 1303 Super Beetle, came with Saturn Yellow (L13M) and or Marathon Metallic (L96M) paint, optional distinctive red and black 'waist' stripes, matt black trim (also Vent Grill trim used to cover vents below rear window for stripe continuity), door handles, wipers and bumpers (these also body colour 'trimmed' with tape) and Lemmertz GT Sport wheels. Sales brochures showed black headlamp surrounds but some cars were fitted with the standard chrome. The interior featured Recaro sourced sports bucket seats and 'leather' sports steering wheel. Dealer fitted options included the 'short throw' Formula Vee range shifter, a stereo radio and fog lamps. Engine was standard 1600 with black flare-tip exhaust pipes. The Sports Bug Stripe Kit was also available from Dealers.
