Vehicle Detail

This is a 1968 Bonneville 2 door hardtop. This is the last year for the long flowing fast back roof line in GM’s B-Body platform which gives these fine cars a racy low look that competes well with Chevrolet’s Impala. With Pontiac GM’s more upscale performance division you get a better engineered vehicle, a bigger motor and transmission and more sculpted styling, which this Bonneville has in spades! From it’s wide split grill to it’s lazy J tail lights these cars are great driving and well built automobiles that come from an age when built in America truly meant something. This Bonneville is showing 68,000 plus miles although it can’t be confirmed. However, they appear to be original by the condition of the pedals and turn signal lever clicks which are clean and tight and not loose as in a high mileage car. It also has it’s original GM keys and it’s complete jack and hardware. In addition it still has service station stickers on the door jambs which both close nicely as on a low mileage vehicle. Body-wise it does have a minimal amount of rust that has been patched in the very bottom of the fenders and lower quarter panels the floors and trunk are very solid. The trunk has a couple of small holes but overall the rest of the body is very solid. The car has been spray bombed in a semi-flat black which gives it a sinister big black Pontiac look. It runs and drives very well but does need a couple of minor repairs: it needs a heater core and a front sway bar bushing and hardware. The car is completely drivable. This car is optioned with 400 CID., 4 BBL. motor + P/S and P/B but has no air. It does have a limited slip “safety track” rear with it’s metal tag still bolted to the pumpkin. All glass is good and all the interior light are working. The car is original with a serviceable red interior and a nice original dash with AM/FM radio and a rare 8-track Multiples. Several 8-tracks are included and are in the glove box. Seats are in good condition but do have minor dry rot on the tops because of the large windows – but the sear bottoms and backs are very nice and are comfortable. The head liner needs to be replaced but the power antenna is working. The radio speakers had been removed and discarded before I got the car. The car has a local connection as it was built in Delaware’s now defunct Boxwood road plant. It has recently passed Delaware’s inspection with 4 good tires and can be driven and enjoyed as is. I will gladly respond to any and all inquiries on this fine American automobile.
