2002 FREIGHTLINER SPRINTER 2500 CDI, TORBO DIESEL NO RESERVEUp for sale is a 2002 Freightliner Sprinter 2500 CDI Work VAN with a 2.7l 5 cylinder turbo DIESEL engine with 156 hp and 243ft lbs of torque. Fuel Economy is 26mpg Highway and 17mpg City. This van was the introduction of diesel work vans by Mercedes Benz under the Freightliner, and Dodge name; all internal parts ( i.e. engine and transmission ) are Mercedes Benz Engineered and designed. Engine starts right up without hesitation, and idles perfectly. The transmission shifts perfectly through all 5 speeds (automatic) and the transmission for this vehicle is the one that made the name for the Sprinter family because they are truly a bulletproof transmission which never dies. This Vehicle was formerly a FEDEX delivery vehicle, and was fleet maintained. Interior includes shelves which the pictures show; exterior has the HAZMAT WARNING LABELS. This model is the SUPER HIGH TOP, with the longest wheel base, and it is the biggest one sold in the American Market. The cargo space is 13 and a ½ feet long, by 5 feet wide, and 8 feet tall which makes it the only van sold in America with maximum storage space. Payload capacity is 3000lbs (1360 kg) for this ¾ ton truck. Excellent work van ready for all types of tradesmen, plumbers, roofers, carpenters, HVAC and many different types of professional people can utilize this vehicle for their specific needs. As stated, this vehicle was fleet maintained. When I received this vehicle, I replaced the starter, fuel filter and tires, so all of these parts are brand new. Suspension looks like it was replaced prior to my possession of the vehicle, brakes are at 80% in the front, and 90% in the rear. All of these Fleet Maintained Freightliners were taken care of rigorously by FEDEX because of the high government standards set forth by the NTSB, so this vehicle is in excellent running condition. There are no major, or minor mechanical defects with this van, literally a work van you can drive and use immediately. Minor issues are there are some small parts of rust on the body, but not on the frame, and there is no radio, but all wiring for am/fm radio is ready, and also for CB communication system. The van features include 2 different angle/view side mirrors which give you maximum view for reversing, and lane changing; in the rear there is a special mirror to see if there is anything behind the rear bumper. The rear bumper is a sturdy step up bumper which allows one to step easily instead of climbing into it roughly. The interior shelving folds up, and has rear interior lighting so you can see in the dark. It also has a rear interior fan, which allows you to vent the van by either pumping air out, or pumping it in. These used Sprinter vans are extremely hard to come by as hardly anyone resells them, especially in this condition. I have seen these vans reach in to the 700-800,000 mile ranges with this particular engine. Current mileage for this van is 265,854 miles, which means there is a good 500,000 miles of life left in it, especially since the motor and transmission have been maintained meticulously.
