Vehicle Detail
1966 Dodge Coronet Deluxe V8 4 Door Sedan It's hard times in the land of plenty, so I'm forced to sell my '66 Coronet "Cory" in order to get some needed funds...I don't drive her as much as I would like to..and I got plenty of other projects waiting for some help! She's up for auction to the highest bidder at no reserve. Cory came from Georgia. As most people know, Georgia does not issue titles to older vehicles. I had to go through a lot of red tape and long waits but I finally got a clear North Carolina title in my name. She's a four door sedan, plain Jane model for sure. She wears "Deluxe" badges so she's a step above the cheapest Coronet for 1966! You can tell all your friends that you are not a cheap person, yet not a flamboyant car owner either! You drive something that is right smack in the middle! And just right! She left the factory with a 273 V8, Torqueflite Automatic, Radio, Windshield washer, variable wipers and back up lights. Still has the original Certicard under the hood in the holder with the original buyers name/address. The washer bottle was missing from the car when I purchased her. The bumper was dented badly as noted in the pictures. I found and bought a new straight bumper for her. Another grille half is included as well. I also have a correct bumper jack set up in the trunk. But you can thank UPS for losing the jack hook. There is another bumper jack in the car that was in the trunk when I got her...definitely not the correct type, nor do I know what it goes to. The new owner can do what he or she pleases with it! The interior could use some work. I removed three of the badly wrinkled door panels to repair them, the fourth is in perfect shape. Repairing them is pretty simple. With a hair dryer you can heat the vinyl in order to smooth out the wrinkles. Spray adhesive is then used to glue the vinyl onto a new board cut from the original pattern. I will include enough of the board to complete the door panels The rear seat looks decent, but front seat is on its 3rd seat cover. There's a cheap cover on the seat currently that looks not so great, but it does its job. I bought very nice chrome interior door handles and installed them. The body is in great shape. A few dings here and there but nothing serious. No rust issues on the exterior. The front floors need replacing/patching and the rear has some holes. (See the pictures) This is due to rubber floor mat disease. Any water in the interior just got trapped under the factory floor mat. I went ahead and cleaned out all of the remnants of the floor mat and all the junk that was in the floor to get a better idea of the condition. The trunk floor and tire well is in near perfect shape. I took it upon myself to clean out all the straw and garbage in the trunk as well. Saves you time and money! She drives pretty good. Occasionally the choke can act funny. A new choke or a manual choke would fix any problems. The original exhaust pipe was rusty/bent so I cut it off at the Y pipe. Currently the car just has a glass pack on the end of the Y pipe. So she is a bit louder than normal! I've driven her around town with no problems. Gauges all work, except there is an aftermarket temp gauge under the dash, but I haven't checked to see if the factory gauge works. Radio works, you just need a factory size speaker for the dash. I've tried to describe the car in as much detail as I can. If there are any questions please ask. She's a good driver and could be driven as is or fixed up. Maybe you want to do a Police car? Who knows...but she'd be a good start! Work that has been done to the car:-New gas tank-New Tires-New Brakes (Wheel cylinders, shoes, etc.)-Tune up (Plugs, wires, cap, fuel filter etc.)-Carb Cleaned-New Driveshaft-New Transmission filter-Fixed PVC hose Parts included:-Front bumper-Grille Half-Factory bumper j(No hook)-Extra door latch mechanism I reserve the right to end the listing for any reason. The car is also for sale locally. Payment is due within 7 days of auction close. I can help in loading the car up for shipping if needed. Buyer is responsible for arranging pickup. Thank you.
