Vehicle Detail
This is a 1972 Buick Sun Coupe. I am listing this for a friend that is not computer savy I can answer most questions but please feel free to call the owner (Charlie) @ 724-747-6453. This car is actually located in Mcdonald, PA which is about 45 minutes from Pittsburgh, PA. The car was purchased by the present owner about 2 years ago. It was originally titled as a Florida car and its general solidity reflects that. It is originally paint code 75A (red). It is also a 135 code white interior and also a white vinyl top. Buick 350 2bbl, Auto, A/C (compressor not present), PS, Buckets, Console, Sport Wheel and manual brakes. It was a a generally solid original paint car that he has since painted white. It has a bit of fiberglass filler in the rear quarters (mainly the driver side), the doors and a little bit elsewhere. The drivers side floorpan was patched and filled for a medium sized hole. All this patchwork was done very well. The trunk lid and trunk pan area are very solid. I do not think that the trunk lid had filler in it. The frame is very solid. All the mechanical pieces for the roof are present but no fabric. The interior needs replaced but the console is good. The dash has a few cracks. The sport wheel is in nice shape. It has decent Buick road wheels and good cores for bumpers. I tried to find numbers on the engine but to no avail with the limited time that I had to look at it and the owner also checked afterwards. The 350 Buick motor runs strong. He had the timing chain, gear and water pumped replaced. Looking at the motor with all my vintage auto intuition, I have every reason to believe that it is most likely a numbers car but I cant guarantee. It has recent PA inspection and is road worthy. The tires are good and the so are the drum brakes all the way around. It is running cherry bomb duals out of stock manifolds that empty out before the axle as seen in the picture. The transmission shifts good. This is a worthy candidate for further restoration being that there were so few sun coupes made. It was freshly painted white but, the paint job is pretty good and it you are going to respray it red, All of the prep work is done for this to be a worthy driver quality car. What I have written above is about all that I know about this car. I am doing this as a favor to the owner. Please call him only if you are very interested because he is busy. Just to forewarn you, he is NOT a Buick guy and does not know a lot of real detailed stuff about this car. Thanks for looking/bidding.
