You are bidding on a very solid daily driver 1998 Mercury Mystique. The current mileage is 165k. The engine is strong – with good power available. Gas mileage is also pretty good at about 24-26 mpg. The transmission shifts 100% and performs as it should. The paint is in decent shape. Overall, there are not a lot of scratches or dings – the most prominent dent is on the rear quarter panel – right behind the rear passenger door (pictured). A motorcycle was parked next to the car and fell over – making the dent. The car is in good shape with no previous accidents listed on Autocheck. The paint is still in-tact so the dent is noticeable from only a certain angle. There is a little bit of fading on the driver’s side, but the paint is still pretty much uniform and the car cleans up nicely. The interior is in decent shape. There is not a lot of wear and tear to show. The carpet and seats are in good condition - with the only signs of wear under the mat on the driver's side. The heat and A/C function properly – a/c is ice cold. The car is equipped with power windows, locks, mirrors, etc. From what I have seen, most things function for the exception of the temperature gauge, the radio, and the power mirrors. I have not investigated the reason for the non-functioning. The tires are relatively new and rims are in excellent condition. Overall, this is a solid little car – good gas mileage for a student or family and perfect for commuting. It should pass any state inspection with minimal issues.
