But it’s time to let someone else enjoy her for a while and allow her to help finance the down payment on our first home. We are selling this SUPER RARE air cooled 1979 VW hightop Transporter camper bus with a clean California title. 88,233k (mostly highway) miles. VIN#2292110369 For the past year Boomer has lived in our garage in Missouri. Prior to that she spent two years on the road traveling the country. She has a full camping set up complete with sink, stove, fridge, two beds and tons of storage. She also has a custom built ($1000 process) back hitch and scooter rack so you can travel with a little scooter to zip around town on. However, she is not currently running and since I’m not a mechanic I couldn’t tell you why… could be something as simple as a vacuum leak or something more serious. She tries to turn over, but never quite gets fired up. We are listing her ‘as is’ and you will have to tow her home or arrange for shipping to a local mechanic. When we bought her back in the day it was the same story. We bought her (non functioning) remotely on Craigslist and had her towed to a mechanic in that town. We had the engine and transmission completely rebuilt (three years ago) and then flew up to drive her home. She then took us around the country for two years. Now she has decided to take another rest and is just waiting for someone else to get her back on the road again.
