Barn find! This 2002 had it's engine pulled and sent out for rebuild by a well known Cal. 2002 tech. Unfortunately, the tech passed away before the work was done and the engine was lost. My client sold the vehicle to me when he moved away and it has sat in my wood shed for years. I was planning on restoring it, but haven't gotten around to it. I need the shed for firewood now and the 2002 needs to find a new home. The car is 100% original, down to the hubcaps, except for the malaga repaint. The car needs a full restoration, plus an engine built or a used one located. I have a rebuildable 2002 motor that I could sell separately, if interested. The chassis is solid and has never been wrecked. It could use a different trunk lid and pass. door. I have good ones I could sell separately with the car. This color Ceylon is extremely rare and only came on 1972 and 1973 2002s. It is worthy to strip down and refinish in the original color. The interior is complete, but in poor condition. Shock towers and rockers are solid. Some rust on the lower portion of the nose panel, driver's foot area and spare tire well, a very common thing on 2002s.Upgrades include Bilstein front struts and rear shocks and a set of period correct, halogen headlights. There are front bumper brackets, but no bumper. I know it looks ugly as heck, but true 2002 enthusiasts will see the diamond beneath the fugliness. Clear title in my possession. Inspections prior to purchase are encouraged. Car is sold as-is with no warranty. Shipping is up to the buyer. I will assist as much as I can. This means I am willing to trailer the car 1/2 mile to the nearest gas station for loading onto a shipper's truck. $500 non -refundable deposit through Paypal is required within 24 hours of auction ending.
