Vehicle Detail
92 dodge daytona iroc r/t--52,000 miles this is a fairly rare car that was built only in 1992 & 1993. there were only 431 of them built for u.s. production. this car is 1 of 60 black ones built in 1992. it has a 2.2L intercooled turbo motor with a lotus designed head, 5 speed stick shift, producing 224 h.p. for a four cylinder car this thing flies. the car was purchased used for $8,000.00 in ja. 1996 by my father. he put a new set of tires on it at 51,600 miles and having driving it less than 100 miles he put it into storage thinking it will be a collectable car in the future. in 2011 he gave me the car due to his age and lack of ablity to care for it. when i took it out of storage i had to put a fuel pump and fuel filter in it. the car now has 52,000 miles on it give our take a few since ive been driving it off and on. its a fun car to drive. the car is rust free. it is a mechanically solid car. the only issue as far as mechanics go is the turbo may have to be rebuilt. the car drives just fine but there is what sounds like a slight vibration when the turbo spools down. under a $100.00 fix if you can do it yourself. the interior is grey clothe and is in very good to excellent condition. the body has a few dings in it due to some 2x4's falling on it while in storage, mainly on the drivers side front fender. the other small issue with the body is the passenger side door molding is for what ever reason has started rubbing on the fender, nothing major. the atermarket items include radio, new tires under 1k miles, sunroof, and green neon lights under the car. the lights look really cool at night but you cant drive with them on its illegal. do some research on the web to see how bad ass this car was in its day. On Aug-08-12 at 14:49:44 PDT, seller added the following information:this car has never been driving in snow. floor pans are 100% rust free.On Aug-11-12 at 15:14:21 PDT, seller added the following information:added pictures of the engine. this is from a guy that test drve the car recently as i have it for sale locally. I checked out and test drove this Daytona IROC R/T a few das ago and can honestly say this is an awesome deal! The cars body is in amazing shape with only normal surface rust on the underbody. Heck the original exhaust has only mild surface rust! Besides the descrepancies the seller has already mentioned the exterior of the car is in great shape. The passenger door does open but rubs the front fender a little. I personally do not think this is because the car was in a wreck or that it is bad body shop work as the CSX-T I owned also started doing this as it got older and I think it has more to do with door sag. I think the most surprising things about this car are the original parts. The factory wheels appeared to be in perfect condition. The front coil springs in the suspension had their factory manufacturing stickers. The radiator hoses had blue paint ***s on them meaning they were original! Oh and the cloth wraping on the wireing harness wasn't rotted at all! The best part was how it drove! the drive train is perfect! The engine started right up and idled smoothly. It didn't hesitate at any RPM either. Oh and it pulled nice and strong under boost too The timing belt looked nice and healthy with no cracks. also I was suprized at the fact that the engine or transmission wasn't leaking any oil at all! The tranny shifted butter smooth too! The only real detraction for me with the car was that the A/C isn't working. Other than that it's in awesome condition. So why didn't I buy it? I have a E36 M3 track car sitting in the garage with a little over $3,000 bucks worth of performance parts I need to install still. I don't need another car I wont drive every day becuase I don't want to put miles on it. This Daytona is a keeper. So I'm going to continue my search for a beater TD to mod and blow up for cheap
