Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a very solid 1991 BMW 535i. It has 168k miles but still runs like new. The motor and transmission both function as expected. The engine has a lot of passing power and cruises easily at 75+ on the highway. The transmission shifts without issue and functions properly. The paint is in great shape. The car has been repainted to the original color and therefore scratches and dings are at a minimum. As pictured, it shines up really well. The interior is in decent condition. There are a couple of small signs of wear - mainly on the driver's seat - small cracks in the leather at the most - nothing too serious. The carpet doesn't have a lot of staining but there is some evidence of a couple of small spills in the back seat foot wells. A thorough detailing and the interior should be back to like-new. Most of the electronic equipment works well. AC blows cold (thank goodness), heat, locks, windows, sunroof all function properly - for the exception of the passenger side front window - the motor is fine but it needs a new switch to operate. Additionally, the radio head was removed by the previous owner so it will need to be replaced. There is a 6-disc changer in the trunk, but it will not function without the radio head unit obviously. The tires are about 3 months old and have an enormous amount of tread left. The brakes are in decent shape as well as the rotors. There is no shimmying during a hard stop. The power steering reservoir has a small and slow leak. When it gets low, it is difficult to maneuver at low speeds (like parking). At high speeds, there is a little bit of "play" in the steering. It is not as "tight" as I have come to know of this particular model. It will probably need a control arm. The steering column is solid and the car is safe to drive but there is a small bit of play that I wanted to note here. The wood appointments are in great shape. The only real interior issue that I have is the rear passenger door panel was repaired with improper glue (shown). It can be fixed for about 3 bucks - but again I wanted it noted here. BMW owners are very particular and therefore I am attempting to give you guys as much info as possible so that you can make an informed decision. Based upon what I have noted here, this car is in solid shape. It runs VERY well and with a few small improvements can bring years of great service. It is a classic but not a show car and it is not being presented as such. It's very clean and has fantastic curb appeal but will need a little bit of TLC to get it to 100%. This vehicle is being offered for sale “AS-IS” because of year and miles. If you are new to Ebay or if you have fewer than 4 transactions, please contact me prior to bidding for approval to bid or I will cancel your bid immediately. There is a $125 documentation fee in addition to the final selling price. I have done my best to describe the vehicle as accurately as possible. Once purchased, this car can be driven anywhere in the country without issue. Please bid with confidence and good luck. It still blows hot and cold Nd the sound is not constant but for some reason it started today. Again, the AC woks perfectly fine but there is a strange noise suing operation.
