For the past two years, my daily driver has been a 1988 BMW 735i, a truly great driver's car made in the era that gave BMW its reputation. About two months after I bought this car, I came across a second 1988 735i sitting in a side yard near where I lived. After talking with the owner, I bought the car with the intention of stripping it for parts. I planned to remove the drivetrain, engine and whatever accessories looked good and have a source to keep the first car going indefinitely. I moved the car to indoor storage and put it on my to-do list. Well, here it is two years later and the car is still waiting to be stripped. With a move coming up, I realize that I will not have the time to accomplish anything with it. Rather than call a junkyard, I thought that someone near west central Indiana might want the car for the same reasons I did. Just the classic straight six motor and the manual transmission alone would be worth the time to remove. The car is a roller, you would need a trailer or a flatbed. Remember, all I did was to move the car to its present location, so I have no specific information on it's condition. For the right person, the car is a a treasure trove of parts, the question is are you out there now and ready to come and get it. Otherwise, it will go to the scrapper. Low opening bid and no reserve, so a serious bidder will take it home. I do have the title for it. TERMS: Please read carefully, your bid indicates you have agreed to all of the following. Of course the project is sold AS IS, WHERE IS with absolutely no warranty. It's garaged in Terre Haute, Indiana, about fifteen minutes north of Exit 11 off Interstate 70. The buyer will have full responsibility for taking possession. A non-refundable deposit of $200 US must be received within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Payment in full must be received within five calendar days after the close of the auction and must be removed within fourteen calendar days.
