Vehicle Detail

MGB GT 1972 Manufactured Sept 1971 car number GHD5UC263982G 78818 mileage 1798CC inline-four engine (modified), Weber 38 DGAS carburetor installed (great performance and response). Aluminum alloy cylinder head installed and major engine performance upgrade. Oil cooler installed, Sony FM/AM CD player installed, chrome window winders installed, inertia fuel pump switch for added safety installed. new solid state fuel pump installed. Front supsension rebuilt with high performance Prothane bushings and rebuilt shocks installed. Chrome bumpers and painted wire wheels. Oil leak. Origninal interior needs update. Moss Rear spring bush kit, (urethane) no. 267-538 not installed, new rear springs not installed. Other new parts not installed. Crane XR700 Fireball electronic ignition kit not installed. This attractive coupe bodystyle of the MGB, designed in part by Pininfarina, lasted through mid-1974. Though it does not provide the open motoring experience of the MGB, the GT is a very practical and stylish 2+2 worth considering. Pre-1975 MGBs have the best power and handling, while 1975-1980 roadsters offer great comfort and affordability. All Bs are easy-to-maintain, fun-to-drive British sports car bargins. Reproduction floor pans and rocker panels (as well as every other body panel and mechanical and interior part) are available, making them easy and cheap to restore. Two cars listed by owner, 1972 MGB GT also on Ebay. Check out both cars. Email to test drive or inspect. First to be picked up gets 4 manuals. Books: Haynes Workshop Manual MGB 1962-1980, BL MGB Handbook, Expert Guide to MGB & MGB GT, and Haynes Weber Carburetor Manual. On Aug-03-12 at 20:17:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Got questions about the rust in pics. Yes there is some, and I tried to take pics to show it. It can be fixed, and it needs paint anyway. There is a key scratch on the driver's side. The interior is original, so at 40 years old it needs work. Wheels should be replaced with bolt-ons because no one wants to mess with the wire wheels. The best thing about this car is the engine. It has low mileage and previous owner spent a lot to upgrade. Transmission also feels tight. Front suspension rebuilt with quality parts. Needs work on rear, but I am including the parts needed. Fun to drive Come to South Austin and see it. If you are serious about it, I will let you drive. Reserve has been met, so it will be sold. I really hate to let it go, but going through divorce, so you know... :-(
