Vehicle Detail

1991 Mustang GT convertible. This is considered a classic now. This car was just in an accident. The front end has $2k worth of damage to it. the hood is pushed in a few inches. Popes autobody quoted me $1800 and some change to fix it. The reason it was totaled wasnt because of the hood...they were going to fix it...the reason they totaled it is because the clock spring for the airbags broke in the accident. Ford doesnt make them new any longer so they would have to use a used clockspring which they couldnt allow a client to use. they need to have a warranty on all items that are installed on the car. I found the clock spring on ebay for $60. The cars value estimated by the insurance was $6700. I actually dropped over $6k into the car. It has new intake $700, new exhaust $1000, new rag top $1500, new front seats $800, new carpet throughout $250, new floor mats $120, trunk mat $100, dyed some of the interior black $300, brand new hankook Z rated tires ($700, put on a week before it was wrecked), brand new cobra 5 star rims ($$800). Downside of the car: it needs a paint job...looks good, but for sure would look a lot better with a fresh paint job.. The car runs great and havent had any issues with it besides a small oil leak. No reserve auction. Anyone that buys this car is getting a almost fully restored classic car. I can also email anyone that wants the estimate to fix the car by Popes auto body here in Fairfax. On Aug-02-12 at 05:30:37 PDT, seller added the following information:The insurance company provided a report of the car if you would like to see it. Email me. All of the cars features/components are considered "normal wear". Nine out of the 13 items they critiqued are "dealer ready". also, the car is able to be driven. Popes autobody where the car was given an estimate, said that everything looks good with the cars engine. I drove it 20 miles yesterday and had no issues. On Aug-02-12 at 19:32:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I am including the old 16 in 5 star rims that were on it when i bought it, dash mat (still in box), steering wheel, new weather stripping still in bags from warehouse, and numerous other odds and ends that i bought when fixing it up. If it is in the trunk of the car it is yours... The other thing i thought of is that it has a brand new alpine headunit ($300) and boston acoustic 5 1/4 in. speakers in the front...no speakers in the rear....and for the radio to work buyer will need to install an amp. Wires are already run to the trunk. I have speakers that will fit in the back that were never installed...also boston acoustic...cost me $200 off ebay. Still in box. I will sell those to the winner of the car for $150. I think that is everything...if i think of anything else i will post more.
