Really Nice 1953 MGTD Complete Restoration Same Owner 12 years. This TD is such a great dependable car. Runs and drives better than new. This car had a complete restoration back in the 1990's by a German Engineer/mechanic in California. He fitted the car with a 1975 BMW 2002 Engine and BMW4 speed transmission. At that time each component was rebuilt to factory specs then fitted with a pair of 40 Webers to bring it to life. A new clutch setup with slave cylinders were installed to ensure reliability and freshness. The rear is a MGA, which is commonly used in the TD's. Because of the wide ratio transmission a 488 gear ratio was put in and the rear overhauled. The 488 gears suite the drive train well. Not to low. But again, brings the BMW engine to life making this TD a superstar. MGB Front disc brakes to stop the power house with rear drums from the MGA. The wheels are competition (RARE) 16" spoke knock offs. The tires are like new. The interior has MGB leather seats and matching door panels along with full carpeting to complete the comfort. The TD was completely rewired by the engineer and looks like it took him a year just to run the wires. to Perfection. The complete front end was rebuild. Including bearings, rubber, ball joints, lines. Has a nice large sway bar in the front as well. Side hoods are included. Brookland screen, no windshield or top.
