Both cosmetically and mechanically excellent! This Jeepster features the overhead valve F4-134 "Hurricane" engine which has more horsepower and torque than the original flat head L4-134 "Go Devil"The F4-134 4 cylinder was produced to replace the L4-134 flat head "Go Devil". This newer engine produces 75 hp (versus 62), which at the time of its introduction made it the most powerful 4 cylinder produced in America! The increase in power came from the introduction of overhead valves like modern engines use today. Here is your chance to own one of the rarer Willys models! These Jeepsters really turn heads! This Jeepster appears to have no signs of rust anywhere. Previous owner stated that the outside and inside of the body was stripped before being repainted. The under side of the Jeepster has what looks to be an original undercoating. No signs of rust or repairs! There is a lot of nice detail to this Jeepster and it runs and drives excellent!! TOnly known issues with the Jeepster: The temperature gauge does not work. We have changed the sender with no luck (it moves into position when key is turned on but does not properly indicate). We have been driving this on hot days and monitoring the temperature with no heating issues or leaks. Possibly the wrong sending unit? The speedometer was working then stopped a week or so ago. May be a bad cable or an issue with the gear in the transmission. Likely a simple fix! These Jeepsters are very rare and unique and they really get attention! Some more Jeepster info: The original Willys-Overland Jeepster ("VJ") were sold from 1948 to 1950, Some leftover models were sold under the 1951 model year. A total of 19,132 original VJ Jeepsters were produced! This Jeepster is being sold AS-IS with no warranty or guarantee. No delivery or shipment is included in the auction price.
