The 1989 was the first year of the G-50 5-speed transmission. All others were four speeds. The numbers vary, but it’s said that less than 800 1989 930 Cabriolets were built. The ’89 was the last year of the 930’s. This 930 is factory Grand Prix White, w/ linen interior and has a navy top. I have the original engine parts (exhaust, intercooler, turbo and intake) in case the new owner wants to place the car virtually back in its stock form. The engine has the following modifications: K-27 turbo charger (replaced May 2011), Spectre carbon fiber cold-air intake, header system without heater box, waste gate spring (1 bar boost), Fabspeed performance exhaust (Feb 2011), larger, polished B&B intercooler, replaced air compressor (Feb 2011). The car sounds great coming down the street and gives off the traditional 930 “turbo rumble” that is impressive. This car is really fast !! and there’s virtually no lag in turbo kicking in. It will thrust you back in your seat if you have to lean on it. Replaced alternator March 2012. Zim’s Autotechnik in Texas provided the major engine mods in 2006. The car has an Alpine stereo with JL audio amp. The sound is average. The A/C in these cars do not blow ice cold, this A/C cools fine, but you won’t be frozen out. It’s very common in this vintage Porsche. Note that with the engine modification, the heater was removed, so the car has no heat. A head-turner, this car has only 70,000 and to my knowledge has never been painted or had any body-work. The car is in great shape overall. The car has a slight oil leak and does not run hot. All lights, electronics, power top, power seats work perfectly. In addition to the engine mods, the car is improved with a newer power top, Bilstein struts and documentation will show a full valve job at 68,935 miles. The car will come with all receipts for services and upgrades. The Certificate of Authenticity will show that the car was optioned w/ the Grand Prix White Fuchs Wheels, shorter gear shift lever and sport steering among others. Additional Info Re: Mileage The CarFax records have accurate mileage up to 8/29/03 at 55,600 miles. Then, at 9/17/04, the mileage shows 157,105. The owner during that time explained that during a service, the mileage was recorded in error. A clerical error. It is not conceivable that in the car’s first 14 years, only 55,600 miles were generated, then a barrage of miles were put on it over the next 12.5 months. It would be nearly impossible that in 12 months, the car added 102,000. The is more than 8,000 miles per month. It is an obvious error.
