Vehicle Detail

THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND RESTORATION FINISHED JUNE 2011. This 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 2 door hardtop was bought new in the south in 1957 by my Father. I have the original bill of sale from the dealer. I also have the owner’s manual that came with the car. It has been in the south until 2008, garaged all of its life. I inherited the car and the only other owner since new. It has no rust whatsoever. 2 OWNERS ONLY. I sent it out for full frame and body restoration in June 2010. I have over four hundred pictures on DVD of restoration and all 200 pages of receipts. The car was stripped to the frame and built back up, every item that needed replaced got replaced. Just a very short list of replacements: gas tank, gas lines, all weather stripping, moldings, all brakes and brake assemblies, all brake lines, all nuts, bolts, washers - as needed, new radiator, hoses, new headliner, bumpers re-chromed, all emblems replaced, new dual exhaust, on and on. All gauges, horns, and lights work. The carpet and headliner are new as well as the dash completely dismantled and restored. The dashboard has been redone and painted with the same clear coat finish as the exterior. The dash was fully dismantled; the needles on the speedometer were even painted For safety, I had the brakes changed to power brakes, steering changed to power steering and rack and pinion, and lap safety belts installed. My Father replaced the factory engine with the FE Block "police interceptor" engine V8, Holley 4bbl. The auto restorer, we believe the engine to be about year 1966 Fairlane GT 390 @320 HP. The engine would have less than 50,000 miles, and the frame reads now 106000 miles. I also have the tools specific to this year model car for maintenance, vacuum tester, timing light, voltmeter, etc. They will go with the car as well as 4 extra hubcaps. I also have hundreds of pages of receipts to document everything that was done to restore the car and what was done to the engine - every single part that was bought, and installed. I replaced the original AM radio with am/FM/mp3/cassette in dash look alike stereo. I have the original am radio as well as the two (2) extra tires and wheels, and four extra wheel covers. The pictures do not show the fender skirts, which I have and the all the mounting hardware. The skirts are new and they are painted the same as the car - 8 coats of clear coat black. The engine was not rebuilt as it compression checked fine, and was replaced shortly before the car was garaged. The transmission was not rebuilt as it was replaced with the police interceptor engine and there was no metal in the fluid or filter. All of the attachments to the engine were replaced, i.e. water pump heater core, fan, radiator, plugs, battery, etc. The actual engine/transmission mileage is unknown, but it is much lower than the frame. FYI: The ORIGINAL Bill of sale reads: July 15TH, 1957 - NEW 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 C1 Vict. $ 2,575.00 V8 Engine $ 150.00 Fordomatic $ 194.00 6 t. Radio $ 79.00 F.A.
