Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible. It belongs to a very good friend of mine who asked me to list it for him as he is busy on the road and does not have time to answer emails and questions about the car. I will give you an accurate description of how the car was described to me and also how I personally see the vehicle. To begin with this car started life as a 6 Cylinder Automatic Car. According to the owner a friend of his purchased the car with the intentions of doing a restoration. The car sat for a couple of years and nothing was done to it. So it was sold to another friend of his who did a partial restoration. They installed new inner and outer rockers, inner and outer quarters, new front fenders, torque boxes and floor pans. The car did not need all of this but they felt while they were there, they might as well get it done. I looked the body over myself and it is very straight. Doors open and close perfect. All nice lines on the car. The body work looks like a professional job. The only thing I noticed was where the front torque boxes were welded in, you can see the weld lines. The suspension was changed to all 5 lug suspension like what the V-8 cars came with. Also a V-8 rear end was installed. I dont know the gear ratio. The running gear was changed to a V-8 with 4 Speed Transmission. Was told the motor was completely rebuilt and is a 289 V-8 built to high performance specifications. You can tell it is a "clearence" motor just by the sound. It runs very strong and holds crazy oil pressure even when hot. I can not verify the engine size and year as you have to take the starter out to get to the numbers. Power Steering and Power Front Disc Brakes were added. New radiator, clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing and new shifter. The clutch linkage should probably be adjusted so it takes closer to the floor. According to the owner the car goes really good. Just had new dual exhaust and brakes. Also new are the bumpers, emblems, tires, horn ring, door handles inside and out, wheel well moldings and all the chrome, has a brand new top that fits like a glove and has not been down yet. The top is also power. My friend did the whole complete interior and did an excellent job. The boot for the top is in the back well. He had the car completely painted but it does have a couple of minor imperfections. If you look at the top of the hood at the right angle you can see sanding spots through the paint. There is a small spot on the right front fender that looks like it got buffed through. Over all a good job. The paint is nice and smooth and there is enough extra to redo the areas mentioned that we will include. The wheels and tires are sharp but are 15 inch and I believe a little too big for the car. They dont bother when driving but I still think they are a little big. I may have missed something so dont be afraid to give a call and I will tell it like it is. This will be a NO RESERVE auction so please be prepared to follow through with the sale should you be the high bidder at the auctions end. This car will run the full term of the auction. There is a current New Hampshire registration that will get you a title in your state should you need one. We have all the proper paper work to transfer into your name. If you need more info or pics feel free to call or email me at 207-324-5568 days or 207-432-2862 eves and sundaysOn Jul-25-12 at 05:42:56 PDT, seller added the following information: COUPLE OF UPDATES . HAD A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT PAPER WORK AND ELECTRICALS ON CAR. I TALKED TO THE OWNER LAST NIGHT AND HE TOLD ME BESIDES THE REGISTRATION HE ALSO HAS A TITLE SO YOU WILL GET THAT WITH THE PAPER WORK. ALL ELECTRICALS WORK FINE. LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, WIPERS, ETC ALL WORK. HE DID MENTION THAT WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER CABLE WAS HOOKED UP SOMETHING MUST HAVE BEEN INSTALLED IMPROPERLY AS IT WORKS BACKWARDS. I AM SURE THIS CAN BE FIXED EASILY.
