1964 Studebaker Avanti Up for auction today is my second Avanti. This one is also a rare car cause of its color and history, This is obviously a yellow R2 4 speed with black leather interior, I say also rare cause the other Avanti I had was a Black R2 making it a supercharged car but it also had A/C, yes supercharged and A/C done by Avanti.. this one does not have A/C but both of these cars where owned by Mike Kelly the owner of the Avanti Factory in 2 different occasions. The car was bought by Kelly in 2005 and it was temporary exported to the Cancun Avanti factory and was on display in the museum, For those who know the Kelly Story you know the factory was closed and all was seized. I was able to acquire 2 cars and have owned them since November 2011 and never drove it. Currently it has 34299 miles, The overall conditions of the car on a scale from 1 to 10 would be a strong 8 the paint shows really good with a great shine and the interior is also in great shape with one visual defect witch you can see in one of the pictures. The engine is a 289 supercharged rated at 290hp in great operating conditions sounds very strong and healthy, the transmission is a 4 speed that is also in great operating condition shifts well and the clutch is perfect. Some of you Avanti guys might recognize the guy in the picture he is Arnold Altman the brother of Nathan Altman another former owner of Avant I found this picture on the internet it was taken behind the South Bend Indiana Factory.
