Vehicle Detail

What is there to say? This car is from the collection of an eclectic owner of fine automobiles. I have the privilege of offering this car as a non-reserve auction. We have owned this car for over 30 years, our family having purchased it then from its second owner. The car was seldom used and placed in heated storage in 1984 in the beautiful town of Avon Connecticut. As this car was one of many cars our family has owned it is difficult to recount its history in greater detail. I believe at the time of its storage the fuel pump may have failed. A new pump still in its wrapper is provided as well as a plethora of other needed parts as well as books and manuals. The overall condition of the car is acceptable given its age. This is not its original color, I believe it to be gray. The interior is totally original with black leather chairs and original cashmere wilton carpeting. The glass is all good as well as all the bright work. The dash is not sun ravished as is frequently the case with this marque. The engine bay is complete and quite proper, the AC compressor seems to be fine, the motor turns freely. I see no evidence of any collisions or rust repairs. The trunk is close to perfect with no evidence of any undo wear. The steering wheel is as new, never having been touched by human hands. All in all it is a project car given the fact that it is not currently running. Furthermore I cannot seem to find its keys so you will be charged with the responsibility to produce copies. I will be selling the car with a notarized bill of sale only. In the states of New York and Connecticut this should not be a problem as this car predates the use of titles. Please check with your local motor vehicle department before placing a bid. The car is currently resting in the scenic village of Bedford New York, 30 miles north of Manhattan. I may be reached by cellular at (914) 403-1768 if you care to view the car this week. This is a NO RESERVE auction. The car will sell next Sunday, July 22 at 9:00PM EST. Transportation can be arranged anywhere throughout the United States or Europe very reasonably and professionally by Transport Masters at (561) 482-7789. In closing, this is an honest car which holds great potential for its future owner. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity. Good luck to all. Bid with all of your heart; I do not think you will be disappointed. Sincerely, John Louis. On Jul-16-12 at 11:37:13 PDT, seller added the following information: What is there to say? Bid with all of your heart; I do not think you will be disappointed. Please note that I have learned from a P1800E enthusiast that the original color of my car was Blue Metallic paint code number 102. I have fielded a number of questions regarding overseas shipping and I am not aware of the laws or regulations regarding such shipping. Sincerely, John Louis. On Jul-18-12 at 15:39:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Furthermore, this is an electric overdrive optioned car with factory air conditioning. The engine does turn freely and compression seems equal and strong. The original color code is 102, Blue Metallic. Several knowledgeable enthusiasts have confirmed the body to be quite straight and rust freeOn Jul-19-12 at 14:57:33 PDT, seller added the following information: Due to the complexity involved in transporting this car to either Europe or South America, I am taking the liberty of blocking any bidders who do not have positive feedback and an existing record of successful transactions. Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter. Sincerely, firemanjohnlouis. On Jul-20-12 at 14:06:05 PDT, seller added the following information: please be sure that this car is for you before bidding. you may call me. you may visit the car or send a representative to examine it. i am not a mechanic nor am i restorer of cars. everything i have said about this car i believe to be 100% true. the photos of the hood were taken without it being latched and locked. it opens and closes perfectly. even the insulation on the inside of the hood is as new. the engine turns over beautifully. to the foreign bidders; take note. new york state did not begin to issue titles until 1974. that means that there are no titles for any cars or motorcycles for any 1973 or older vehicles. i can not help you if you require a title for your country. please do not bid if you are troubled by any of these facts. good luck to all !!!On Jul-21-12 at 14:00:55 PDT, seller added the following information: to my friend from canada, area code 604. i have most closely inspected the interior. it is in more than fine original condition. the dash and the facia are both close to excellent. door covers perfect as well as the kinderseat. carpets 41 years old and still great. leather chairs would be improved by removal, restitching and repacking. again the patina of the leather is well within keeping given the age of the car. i would not even redye or renew the leather. they are only original once in a lifetime. good luck to all!! john louis
