Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1985 Honda CRX HF. This car has the carburated 1.5L with an 5 speed manual transmission. This car does have AC but I have the belt off the compressor. When I took the belt off the AC was working. The car runs and drives very well down the road. The car does idle rough. I took it in and had it looked at. I was told that it has a leak in one of the many many vacuum hoses. The shop recommended that instead of having them search for the leak it would be best to put a new weber car on it. This would delete most of the vacuum hoses. They are a little over $300. The car still drove fine and got me to and from work just fine so I didn't worry about it. I was driving the car 150 miles round trip each day to work. I bought a VW diesel Jetta and I am using that as my commuter so I have no more use for this car. I have put a new alternator, alternator belt, blower motor, rear shocks and I sprayed the inside of the hatch back floor with an insulator to help with the road noise. The car burns zero oil and doesn't seem to have any leaks. The radio and heater work very well. Brakes and clutch are good. Over all the interior is in good shape for the age. The person that I bought it from about 1 year ago did some not very good body work on the car. He put a horrible paint job on it and did some real bad bondo work. Looks like he cut some rust out of the rear wheel wells and bondo what he cut out. Basically the exterior doesn't look real nice, but I bought it for a commuter so I didn't care. I was getting in the low 40s mpg with it. Everyone keeps telling me that if you put that weber carb on it will get a consistent 50mpg. I am 6'1" and weigh about 210 and I fit in the car very comfortably. I can help with delivery if that is needed. I can put the car on my trailer and meet the winning bidder somewhere if needed. I will charge $1/mile loaded to do that though. Please send any questions. It is a good reliable car that would be a good project or a great commuter.
