1987 Toyota MR2. Bought from a backyard in Los Angeles, has been parked since 2007 due to failing smog. Vehicle owes $730 in back fees to the state of California! If you wish to register in CA you will need to pay these fees! If you are taking it out of state, these fees may not apply! I had the car pulled out of storage, took it home, and cleaned it up with the intention of having it as my commuter but the DMV fees are too high for that to make sense. It's the hardtop, manual window version that has the least weight and is a fantastic candidate for conversion to a race car. Straight, clean, rust free car. If it didn't have the fees attached, I wouldn't be selling it. Mileage is reasonably low, overall condition is pretty good considering the age. Paint is oxidized but reasonably even. Could be buffed back. Hood was replaced with a straight part from another car due to a dent (something got dropped on it?) and is close in color but thin on paint at the body lines. The fuel pump has been replaced with a brand new Denso pump and sock. I had planned on keeping the car so did it right with quality parts. This is a bear of a job, eventually needs doing... This one is done for another 20 years of operation. New Denso plugs. Engine fires on the first turn of the key, no issues. Mechanically seems sound, has driven up and down a private street after replacing the fuel pump with no clunks or rattles that would indicate something terribly bad. No signs of any major accidents. Small parking lot dings on both rear corners. Left rear wheel spat missing. Tires are circa ~2005 or so and should probably be replaced per my lawyer. Front spoiler lip has the typical beat up marks from curbs and parking. Interior is OK. Dash has the typical crack in the center. glove box cracked as well. Radio trim surround has been glued back into place. Alpine CD player installed. Drivers seat has a tear in the bolster. AC switch is gummed up, probably could just be cleaned, econ and the rest of the climate control group are great. Leather around shifter is done. Center console has the typical cracks through the vinyl. Door panels are in great shape. I encourage buyers to come by and test drive.
