66 Dodge dart gt with a 383 and a pistol grip 4 speed. Had this car for 5 years only on the street twice,it became a hobby working on it. Wife says now it has to go. 1969 383 Magnum motor 67 closed chamber 440 heads, ported and polished,ports matched to intake and exhaust# Block and studded main and heads bored 030 over Crank turned 10 and microrods resized and fitted with chrome-moly rod bolts TRW tr-77 clevitte bearings thruout# TRW forged aluminum 10:1-1 pistons custom balanced 8 quart drag pan Moroso windage tray High volume oil pump Double row Edelbrock timing chain set Iskendarian 262 degre supercam and lifters Big lumpy cam Offenhauser dual port 360 manifold Summitt 660 carb Electric fuel pum# 426 Hemi 4 speed transmission Custom cut heavy duty yoked drive shaft 8 3/4 3.91:1 limited slip rearend Pinion snubber 3 core radiator with dual electric cooling fans Very little rust on body really in great shape No post windows Chrome in great shape as all the glass. Small holes in the floor, The trans hump was cut to allow the installation of the pistol grip 4 speed, not done very well but carpet will cover it up Major items it needs Seats need to be recovered new headliner,new carpet# New paint job ,paint flaking New steering coupler It was a true Mopar street racer in its day.With more work it can be a bad ass MoparOn Jul-15-12 at 12:37:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Just drove it around the block for the first time in five years.Found some other issues: throwout bearing making noise,backfiring out of exhaust,carb hestating when trying to accelerate and stuck in first gear(this is the linkage and I am going to adjust). The other items I am not going to fix so I have lowered the reserve. Also I reserve the right to end auction early as it is for sale locally. Will try to replace this by friday. I have been asked about the engine if it is a fresh rebuild the answer is no. It was done before I got the car. I believe the carb is dumping raw gas in hence the reason for the backfiring. I will see what i can do for that but I am not rebuilding or changing the carb out. A mechanic friend told me the gas smells old so if time permits i will drain the old gas out and put fresh in only if i have the time. I work 12 hours a day, thats the main reason it has to go. no time to work on it.
